Congrats! When is the big day? Rob: http://www.robnugen.com/cgi-local/journal.cgi?dir=2000/02&file=29Wende.html Rob: It's going to be June 21 of some year. Rob: We don't know what year yet. Rocky: Tricia and I were engaged for 2 years. Rob: June 21 because it's summer solstice. Rob: Cool beaners on long engagement. Rocky: Also one of the hottest days of the summer. Rob: yes yes there is that. Rob: Maybe we'll reconsider, since it's going to be an outdoor ceremony and stuff. Rob: But it's going to be super casual. I'll be barefoot. Rob: Near a lake; we'll begin research sometime soon. Rocky: I like casual. Mine was NOT and it wasn't very comfortable. Rob: eww Rob: Maggie and John's was not super formal, but I wore pants and shoes. Rob: I'm like forget all that crazy dress up stuff. Rob: The invitations will be hand written Rocky: Make sure there are plenty of insects near the lake. Rob: I haven't actually talked to Wen about that handwritten part. Rob: oh yes! Rocky: :0 Rocky: :) Rob: Insects rule. People have to really want to come to our wedding! Rocky: It's a good strategy.... Rob: there will be barbecue, vegetarian spread, and vegan spread Rocky: Hottest day of the year near a lake. Lots of people will get you stuff but won't show up! Rob: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob: That is totally brilliant! Rocky: wish I thought of that! Rob: Save cash on food and still get the goods! Rocky: YES! Rob: She'll be wearing a sundress, which will save lots of mad cash too! Rocky: You can take all that money you save and go somewhere really cool! Rocky: Like Colorado. Rob: Most excellent proposal! Rob: She wants to go out of the country for honeymoon. Rocky: England? Rob: Maybe. Rob: I was all Australia?? and she didn't jump at that, even though she has wanted to go Rocky: I suggest Holland. It's very laid back. Rob: I also mentioned Costa Rica; I'm a Costa Rica expert after my 10 day trip! Rob: Tabacon in CR was super nice Rob: And Manuel Antonio Rocky: YEs! Or you could go to Puerto Rico (American Territory) Rob: Holland and we can visit the flowers and wooden shoes Rob: PR is a good idea! Rob: probably not out of the country enough for her. Rocky: Hmmm. Russia? Rob: I don't have a romantic affinity for Russia, but I would enjoy going for a non honeymoon trip Rob: don't you know russian? Rocky: Yes- it was my minor. Rob: see ya! Rob: thanks! permalink work 9:01pm CST Thursday 2 March 2000 Today I basically worked all day. Woke up crazy early and decided therefore to do laundry!! Two great things about that:
I had left her new dollar coin in my shorts pocket. Now we know what they will look like after a nice laundering. Not brilliant shiny, but still golden in color. Very nice. So inspired was I about the coin that upon arrival at work, I visited www.usmint.gov and purchased two 1999 Susan B. Anthony proof coins, and two 2000 proof sets, including all the quarters from this year!!! Wait... 2000 or 1999 proof? Hmmmm.. now I don't remember. Oh well. Anyway, I ordered lots of cool coins! I was anti-impressed with the shopping cart on their site. It kept erroring when I tried to add items to the cart, so I called customer service and ordered over the phone, asking them to waive the S/H fee that they wanted to charge since it was not a web-based order. After that I work work worked on SAS stuff, the primary language used at my work for database stuff. It's a somewhat sloppy high level language, but is fairly effective for what we need to do. I'm picking it up pretty easily I think. Wende and I munched at Subway and that's been the most excitement I've had all day! |
