Entries this day: Dream MS cats sleepy Dream 6:04am CDT Tuesday 30 May 2000 Wende and I were living in the house I lived in during high school. We had our 3 cats and no parents living there. Two kids were trying to be mean to our cats - trying to "catch" the cats messing up stuff at the kids house. Their idea was to put orange powder on the cats, and then look out for orange powder at their house, thereby knowing the cas had been there. I was all tyring to reason with them, to tell the kids to chill and quit being jerks, but they wouldn't talk to me. I didn't know their names or even where they lived. So when they started running toward home, I chased them, determined to find out where they lived. Wende yelled for me to stop - not to chase them. I walked angrily back to Wende and she explained her reasoning. (I don't remember what it was.) Soon enough, the kids came back, confessed their names and the reason they were acting this way. Through listening to them, we were able to find out what was the core problem, which had nothing to do with the cats, but basically that the kids wanted attention. MS 5:25pm Tuesday 30 May 2000 I'm glad Microsoft is getting broken up. I don't care if it's good or bad for me or consumers or anyone, but somehow this forced sanction seems to be the closest I will ever get to punching in the mouth whoever wrote all this crappy MS code. I don't actually want to punch them in the mouth, but just maybe yell and call them bad names, including the word 'Belgium.' (Meredith, ask Molly) The crappy code to which I am referring now is the code that locked up my display so that I had to type the following journal entry in twice before I could get it to my site for you, my lovely reader. - - - - - - 5:08pm Tuesday 30 May 2000 Around 2pm each day, I feel astonishingly sleepy. Today at 2pm, sitting beside Kevin's desk as he shredded through some SAS code, I had to literally work to keep my eyes open. Thoughts of how much more productive I would be after a nap flittered through my head, but never uttered themselves through my mouth. Over 30 minutes passed in this manner. Nearly agony of concentration, and I actually had a bit of a headache after not taking my 30 minute nap. Once I got back to my desk, the feeling had almost subsided; I guess my nap got bored of waiting and left. Back at my desk, I surfed a bit, looking for more information on keyboards that will work with my new Handspring Visor (copy of Palm III thing). Two are available: one that folds up for $99 and a full sized one for $69. If the folding one seems sturdy and stuff, I think I will choose to get it. That way I can just carry it and my Visor in my cargo shorts, ready for a journal entry in a moment's notice. cats 11:01pm CDT Tuesday 30 May 2000
"What do you think that was?" wondered Wende, concealing her frustration. The picture in front of the fireplace. Downstairs to check it out: Peter was leaving the scene of the crime, Spot was on top of the fireplace munching food. Yup, the picture glass was smashed, having hit the drill I left on the floor. I'm guessing Peter tried to follow Spot onto the fireplace and didn't make it. If Spot would just pee only in the litterbox, if Peter would quit eating all the food he possibly can, if Tinkerbell would just chill. What lesson may I learn from these cats? sleepy 5:25pm Tuesday 30 May 2000 I'm glad Microsoft is getting broken up.
