Dream

7:00am Tuesday 15 August 2000

Looking over the FSD financials with Kevin, he said I would get $6000 as a bonus at the end of the year. We had a project that would net us 110,000,000,000,000,000 dollars. I was all, "Kevin, that is more then the debt of the US Treasury; how can this be???"

(different dream)

I was in a shopping mall with continental YRUU youth and looking at some videos in a movie rental place. They were all old school videos, including The Making of Batman

This video seemed weird because it showed scenes I didn't remember from the movie. This did not trigger me to think I must be dreaming.

Today I intend to:

  1. deposit checks for our Investment Club
  2. make all the entries our our Club's software.
  3. Call about getting Scott's injuries appraised and fixed
  4. Do some good work at work.

For this last one, I'll need to meditatively shift my mindset by contemplating what needs to be done and finding some fun in doing it.

This is a scan from the Editor's Notes section of APCC magazine. They sell Uninterruptable Power Supplies, and want everyone to think a ship will soon collide with their utility company.

"it's" instead of "its" is one of my most pet peevingest errors. Now, I'm not a grammatical genius, but I think an editor should be, or at least pay someone who is.

I wrote him an email:

Subject: it's time to learn about its

"it's" always means "it is"

"it's" *ALWAYS* means "it is"

"it's" is NEVER the possessive form of "it"

"(it's anchor still down)" means "(it is anchor still down)"

Please send me a free Back-UPS 500 for catching this error.

I'll let you know what response I get!

How interesting now to read my then-response to the misspelling, after having read and listened to How to Win Friends...

No wonder I got no response!
