Entries this day: Dream Windshield WorkBS Dream 5:39am CDT Thursday 12 April 2001 (dream) Wende and I at a restaurant which we frequented and saw a new theater next door. We wondered how they could compete in the movie theater market, and then noticed their gimmick: Free chips, all one can eat. Outside the theater were big garbage bags full of chips for people to take into the theater. People wouldn't finish them, so the bags would go back outside, ready for the next peron to munch. We had gone to get our tickets exchanged at a different theater for a movie that we did not get a chance to see. When we got back to the restaurant atfter attending the free chips theater, Marcel was at our booth. I gave him five and he was talking to Kayse on cell-phone speaker-phone. People were all, "it's a good thing you weren't here for their conversation [because it was so lovey-dovey sappy]." Windshield 1:43pm Thursday 12 April 2001 I got my windshield fixed on Scott today. It's been 2.5 or 3.5 weeks since it got TOKked by the rock or something on I-45. The crack grew to about 5 inches that day and has grown another 2 inches since then. For $45, a guy named Marshall fixed it. He drilled a hole at the end of the crack, a hole at the original chip, and a hole along the length of the crack. Inserted resin into the thing and then sealed it with UV radiation and gave me a lifetime guarantee on it. Nice. He works behind Dr Gleem, a car wash place on Ella Blvd, just north of 610 (north loop). If you have any windshield cracks, email me and see if mine has gotten any worse. NO thunderrabbit SPAM@cheerful.com WorkBS 1:43pm Thursday 12 April 2001 Ack. I'm trying to get some cool ass stuff done at work, and I keep getting thrown all these bullshit little jobs that I've figured out before and then they get erased or lost and I have to figure them out again. In this case I'm talking about setting up a machine to automatically receive emails to a certain address, strip off the attachment if one exists, reply to the user "we got yer attachment" email, and reply "try again, dumbhead" if there was no attachment. I set it up once about a year ago and then the machine got reformatted, effectively erasing my work. Then I set it up again about 6 months ago and the same thing happened. NOW I'm putting it on a machine and the same thing will happen again because this machine is slated to be part of our web-server farm, and we don't have a machine allocated just for this email stripping service.
