Entries this day: AM Work imageMagick miki webquarry.com AM 8:39am JST Saturday 8 November 2003 Little late for work, but not bad late. Umm.. studied last night. Can't send emails for some reason. permalinkWork 6:25pm JST Saturday 8 November 2003 Today work was aight. Busy at first and then eased up after lunch. 'cept for one class of four level 6 students, some of whom were lower than level 6 criteria states. During voice we talked about fashion. I started off with this line (of BS) like, "Today I thought we would... um... talk... about... fashion and the differences between um, fashion for um, younger generations versus older generations." That went over well once I resorted to splitting them into two groups. Most of the students wouldn't otherwise speak up in the group. - - - - After work I chowed a bit of left over lunch and chatted with Erik about discount movie tickets and listened to Kathy (today was her first day) talk about silliness and clubbing in LA. permalinkimageMagick 10:15pm JST Saturday 8 November 2003 On webquarry, shell1 has been moved to a new machine. The new machine has ImageMagick on it, which makes it trivial for me to tweak images once they're on that machine. (Trivial is a bit strong; it's still a command line interface, and each file must be smurfed individually, but) I am pretty happy about this, though I haven't figured out how to merge this tool with an email attachment extractor. What I could do is send files to my site with a web form, though that would require navigating a menu interface to find the files on my filesystem instead of drag and drop like I could do with email. Further, I'm going to get the new OS X 10.3 soon as I get paid (15 Nov) and get to Akihabara, which I have heard includes X and Gimp. I dunno how true that is, but I'm still getting the new OS. It's late; I haven't studied, but I've eaten tonight and fucked around online reading comics and trying to figure out why I still can't send email; I have a guess that it's related to shell1 being changed to a new machine; I wrote to my sysop. permalinkmiki 10:23pm JST Saturday 8 November 2003 I'm still kinda peeved that Mike is running around Tsunashima with Miki (peeved = jealous and protective (of Miki, not Mike)). I saw Mike and then Miki as I left Tsunashima station. Grrr. Tumultuous brainwaves resulted. permalinkwebquarry.com 10:44pm JST Saturday 8 November 2003 D'oh. Now webquarry sorts its files in case-insensitive order so that flocks up how they appear on my journal. I've been careful to name the files so they show up in chronological order when they're sorted in ascii order, not case-insensitive order. I aksed the sysop about that too. Barring a fix, I'll see if Fred can help me build a fix into my journal.pl. permalinkprev day next day |
