Entries this day: Dream Work after_work trainspotting vote!_fun_fun_fun! Dream 10:42am JST Thursday 8 January 2004 I was supposed to drive Mr Van (*) pick up some people from the airport and take them to a place by 8pm. I had to leave some newfound friends from OZ and I didn't know when I would see them again. It seemed so unfair to have to leave them for such a mundane reason. I was like, "can I come visit you in OZ?" but didn't really get an emphatic yes. (*) Mr Van was my first car (van), four cars ago. I had a choice as to which end of Mr Van I would drive him from. I chose the normal end just because I wanted to. I had to stop and do something before I got too far and when I was ready to get back in the van, I was nearly blocked by an oncoming ceremonial dance of Africans (I don't know from what country or tribe) including some lions, both male and female. I tried generally to not interrupt their performance and slip through the gaps, but one of the lions took an interest in me so I was like, "RAR!" back at it and it backed down. This wasn't a huge feat; these were domesticatedish lions. I talked briefly to the leader and a different lion tried to bite my coat and I was like, "heYY..! StopPIT!" and he also backed away. I don't remember much past that. permalinkWork 6:10pm JST Thursday 8 January 2004 First five lessons, actually six almost, were man to man. Nice. Best conversation was with people in the voice room. Funniest and best. ¤æ¤ (sp) is the name of the student who I saw in Tokyo station while I was walking around with ͵»Ò. Yuki was on her way back from dropping off a friend at Narita. We waved in the station, but I couldn't think of her name. She said HI to me today. Akina, who had been quite quiet in the voice room (more quiet than her ability) told me she saw me on Nambu line a couple days ago around 1pm. She had tried to get my attention, but I was sleepin or something. "Next time, hit me." Mai works at Dotour (sp) coffee shop in Kawasaki station on weekends. Maybe I'll smurf a hot cocoa from there on Saturday. Êþ»Ò said HI to me just before I had one class til lunch. I hoped we could hang out, but she was going to eat okonomiyaki somewhere with someone. She asked if I had hung out with Yuuko and I told her yah we had seen some movies. Good to see her. permalinkafter work 10:42pm JST Thursday 8 January 2004 Morag and I saw KG Miki in Kawasaki station. I hugged her and we said HI a little bit. Morag and I rode the bus home together. She ranted about Lisa and I listened, gave her feedback as requested. I told her about Barbara Cher's _Wishcraft_ and Barn Raising. Morag and I will have our first Jam Session tomorrow. (I think Heather and I came up with the term Jam Session. If not, that's still the term we used way back in the day. Damn 10 years ago.) Hugged her as we parted. I like Morag. permalinktrainspotting 10:48pm JST Thursday 8 January 2004 Dan invited me to go trainspotting with him tonight. We're out here now in the freeeeezing cold watching shinkansens go by. We placed bets on which direction the next train would pass. I was up 10 yen at first, but now I owe him 10 yen. permalinkvote! fun fun fun! 12:53am JST Friday 9 January 2004 I have figured out how to put my URL on images. Now's the time to vote on which font is best. I like number 3 best, and will almost certainly use it, so only vote if you want to. Candidates are here. permalinkprev day next day |
