Entries this day: Good_stuff Skyliner That_cat_looks_a_lot_like_Fred Good stuff 11:53am JST Tuesday 13 January 2004 Slept as long as possible, and now I'm doing stuff with Project Builder on my Mac. I wonder why I keep specifiying Mac (but not OS X.3?) weird. Anyway, got an update downloaded that fixed the shiznit that wasn't working last night and just a moment ago it did some stable shit as I had three projects open and then abruptly moved the source files to two of the projects (into ~/java/) while the third project's classes were being indexed. I went back to project builder and it's like, "wa! where'd the shit go?" and I told it to chill and close the old projects and once they were closed, I found the indexing was still happening no problem. Nice. (Money.) That means it had three projects open, and they are all unrelated enough that it can fuck with each of them at the same time and have problems with some and not lose it all. permalinkSkyliner 2:27pm JST Tuesday 13 January 2004 I ended up easily finding the Skyliner to Narita Airport, which I intend to use when it's time to take janette back to the airport. It's 920 yen more (than 1000 yen) but worth it, I judge, for the comfy seats and such. I still haven't worked out which direction around the 山手 loop is fastest from 渋谷 to にっぽり. On a productive note, I looked through the valunteer guide that Neil H-Y gave to me (and that I gave to (and have borrowed from) Morag) and found some organizations I may call to try to hook myself up with some counseling here in big T-town. I'd like to find some peace with my relationship pattern, and not continue to maintain a high traffic (though thankfully low bandwidth) list of girlfriends. permalinkThat cat looks a lot like Fred 3:07pm JST Tuesday 13 January 2004 Holy shit. Fred is also in Japan. I'm still, dumbfounded. He did an incredible job of fooling me, sending the perfect email before janette had arrived: From: Fred Subject: whadja think? Date: January 11, 2004 1:48:29 AM JST To: puzzle@robnugen.com Bill's puzzle is pretty cool, isn't it? Have you already fubarred it? [etc etc] And I was like, "wha?" and then replied, Oh, you must think janette is already here. [etc etc] Actually, no, he did not think janette was already here. Holy fucking shit! What a mind warp my brain is going through; all my plans (not too many (okay, only 2)) need to change slightly. - - - - So, I'm all like sleepifying a bit on the train and rockin' up here like, "aight where's janette?" and before I see janette, I see a guy who looks a lot like Fred. I looked down, recalibrated my brain, looked back up. WTF? That cat looks a lot like FRED! [blink] THAT CAT IS FRED!!He jumped out and said "WAZZAP NIGGAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" (*) HUGE HUG. Holy shit, Fred is in Japan. (*) not actually, but he thought of that as a possible greeting. - - - - I repeatedly told janette how amazed I was that was able to keep the secret, and how it was the best present ever and all this other good stuff. Wow wow wow how amazing. permalinkprev day next day |
