Entries this day: AM Class Work Yamanote morag AM 7:58am JST Friday 16 January 2004 This morning janette and I will roll up to my Japanese lesson with ¤¢¤ä¤Ê and janette will take the lesson while I do the homework that I didn't do last week. I trust that my brain can get re-engaged in Japanese. I wonder if the train we will take will be more crowded than any train janette has previously taken. permalinkClass 11:28am JST Friday 16 January 2004 I slept while janette took a lesson from Ayana. I was really impressed with how well janette did. I was really surprised at how often Ayana said she (Ayana) was nervous at teaching a new student. permalinkWork 9:15pm JST Friday 16 January 2004 Taught Yuki, who didn't distract me as much as I thought she might. That's good. - - - - Taught level 4 number 13, and two of the students were really good, but the other was kinda slacking in the initiation department, but otherwise had good comp. As the last part of the lesson, I was like, "aight, where are they?" and it's kindof tricky for the students to figure out from the text where the setting is, but it is possible to be pretty sure where they are. At least generally. - - - - Told Akina that I was going to Starbucks to meet Morag after work. Wonder if she'll show up. - - - - (she didn't) permalinkYamanote 12:15pm JST Friday 16 January 2004 There was a young woman conductor on the Yamanote line today. I really enjoyed watching her smile as she did her job. She seemed a bit nervous; she had a mentor guy there as well who didn't [Vocab error: missing verb] too much, but who would occassionally check a couple things at the stations. As I got off at Shinagawa, I kinda was too nervous to say what I wanted so say, "gambatte" and "arigato gozaimas" but I said, "arigato" to her and she seemed to smile. I think she giggled a bit when I specifically turned to watch her go by when the train left. permalinkmorag 11:15pm JST Friday 16 January 2004 Morag and I met at Starbucks and talked. Saw Hitomi there (I'm pretty sure that's her name) but didn't talk to her too much. Morag didn't do her stuff from last weeks JAM session, but she did make positive efforts toward it and I called it a Success. (she got up early to send the email, but the address had been left at work) I set some new goals around writing a little ditty and sending pictures to Justin for First Drop (roller coaster) Magazine. I got an issue today with my pictures in it (but not my copy (text)); and I want to be published again. And again and again. permalinkprev day next day |
