Entries this day: Dream My_personal_hater Work bilingual_bus_babies hmmm Dream 8:31am JST Saturday 21 February 2004 Being forced off a small boat on a winding river beside an old residential area. My friend was on the boat and knew I would be okay. He goes, "where?" meaning "where shall I meet you?" and I go "yellow slide" which was the next bright easily identified landmark, a yellow plastic slide that kids apparently used to deposit themselves into the river. The maniacal captain gave me "two seconds" to leap from the ship and he dramatically was all, "and one" after i jumped in and sank to the bottom to hide from him. "And two!" as he kept the boat there, waiting for me to jump out and I'm like, jack; I'm under water here; hurry up and realize I'm gone. "two and a half!" oh geez I thought and I splashed the water and screamed help help etc and he was satisfied and went on his way. I challenged myself to climb out of the water, up the slide and along the variety of obstacles in the yard and reach the front (back?) door, all without touching the ground. Climbing over old jungle gyms as handily as a chimp, I enjoyed the challenge, swinging from ring to ring to bar to anything I could grab.. Successful in my endeavor, I arrived at the door but realized there was no doorbell as such; I had bypassed all the normal ports of entry; by the time a normal non-chimp reached this door; they would be escorted by someone within the home. I presumed, therefore that these doors were not actually locked and, correct in my assumption, went inside. "Hello?" The place was quite less than recently lived in. I walked about the living room for a while and remained calm when things started moving by themselves. Two large heart shaped wire frames were lifted and moved over near where I was standing. A bit further away some leaves were swept into a pile and then the pile splayed to bits to the sound of a woman crying. I was like, "hello? why are you crying?" having a good idea of what genre of stories must have happened. "oh it's all my fault," she sobbed. "I should never have let her cut the cake; oh there's blood everywhere" Wailing tears. Looking around, it seemed to me there had been no fresh blood here (except my own, which was enclosed carefully in my body) for tens of years. "What's your name?" I asked the woman. She replied and I thought it was a pretty (although dated) name. "My name is Rob. Will you let me see you?" "You can't see me?" I smiled; "I'm sorry, but I don't think so." I looked over at Wende {where'd she come from?} who agreed. I began to see the form of a young woman with dark bouncy-spring curled hair. She wore a fancy sundress, dark blue with little white flowers, and a white lacy collar on top. "Hello. You're wearing such a pretty dress." She smiled and became more visible and more solid. I smiled and began to fall in love with her, my first ghost (and a cute young girl ghost at that!) friend. I looked over at Wende as I hugged the ghost who was sitting in my lap. Wende knew my curiosity in all things new, plus she knew that I knew this new relationship shouldn't last much longer. "Guess what?" I asked my new cute friend. "What?" She expected a to hear what her beliefs had been telling her for who knows how many years. That this tragedy, whatever it had been with a knife and a cake - a party gone horribly wrong - was somehow this young spirit's entire fault. At the same time, there was a glimmer of hopeful expectancy; maybe something *different* was about to happen; this type of strange visitor didn't seem to come around here very often. Could it be? "You don't have to stay here." "What do you mean?" "Close your eyes." She did this and I noticed her body relax a little. "Now, notice your friends around you. They are here to take you home." The audio tape featuring Robert Monroe and the voice of a soul as perceived by a medium came to guide my words. "Go to the light. Your friends are waiting for you." best dream ever. permalinkMy personal hater From: canihaveahug@sinkingship.com Subject: Ever get the sinking feeling? Date: February 21, 2004 6:34:40 PM JST To: comment@robnugen.com Quickly: Where can I send you money? Dont want to tell you Nova doesnt suck cuz it sure does. But you picked the one school thats probably WORSE than nova. Think about it: 1. Unpaid time between lessons.... basically means u sit around and dont get paid hoping for a lesson. 2. They DONT PAY FOR YOUR TRAIN PASS!! Fuck dude come on that alone would be enough for me to tell them to piss off. 3. 1350 per lesson more or less. Ok now imagination: Rob has a lesson at 11 and another at 1150 then a break then no lesson then he has two more in the afternoon at 1400 and 1450. Well were hoping the gaps get filled but there is no telling..... so it is POSSIBLE that rob will earn a whopping 5600 minus transportation say 200 each way if you live only 2 stops away so at the end of the day PRE tax rob makes 5200 and after taxes somewhere around 4900. So take 4900/5(hours spent at gaba) and you are looking at a whopping 900 yen an hour! way to go rob! before you say im full of shit thought you might want to take a look at these: http://www.letsjapan.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=1095 http://www.gaijinpot.com/forums/read.php?f=33&i=7877&t=7877 Also they cant sponsor your visa: http://www.gaijinpot.com/forums/read.php?f=33&i=8059&t=8059 Terrible design but good info: http://www.geocities.com/antigaba/lowdown.htm All the best amigo!permalink Work 6:28pm JST Saturday 21 February 2004 Cool. emacs knew what time it is before Finder did. Work went pretty quickly, I must say. I think it helps me to have a good first lesson. My lesson was with Haruna, a new genki 7A with cool glasses. I don't remember her demographics, but I like her. In the teachers room, Carla was looking for kids' cards (as she always does on Saturday), "does anyone have any clothes out?" Eric goes, "I have clothes out." Eric usually says nothing super funny like that. It wasn't all that super funny, but it was funny and it came from Eric, the mild manneredest cat at work. Today I was finally able to break up more with Asuka, who keeps having man to man lessons with everyone but poor little me. She's only 19. Ooh that helps a lot. Morag made her hair blonder. I like it (I like most things about Morag), but she doesn't cause it's a bit orange. I'll agree that it's a bit orange. I still like it. I got a money afternoon instead of a shit one because J-Lo called in sick, which I somehow find quite ironic since he was pimping the virtues of good attendance. Result: Eric had to take J-Lo's Eiken lessons and I got to take Eric's Topic Voice (on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), which he had already planned, making it way way easy for me. A blip in my brain suggests that I can write a topic voice out for Eric, but I doubt I will. Today was my first day to ride the bus to work and home from work. Intentionally. permalinkbilingual bus babies 6:38pm JST Saturday 21 February 2004 Okay, she wasn't a baby, but about 4 years old, and the mom had pretty clearly excellent English skills and was encouraging nearly all English conversation with the girl who was clearly more comfortable with Japanese. The girl flipped to Japanese when she didn't know the proper English, and then the mom translated; it was pretty cool. I was like, ahhhh sighhhhh. permalinkhmmm 9:32pm JST Saturday 21 February 2004 Wow. Yuuko called me and said she watched LoR I and wants to watch LoR II before we watch LoR III on Wednesday. I was just about to go to bed, but we're going to watch II tonight as soon as she arrives. Yeee. - - - - I've just been watching Futurama episodes. 3 or 4 tonight I think. permalinkprev day next day |
