Entries this day: Blah Cool Midori afta_work Blah 8:12am JST Monday 23 February 2004 Kinda have blah feelings today. Like why didn't I kiss Abbey more effectively and why did I say, "if I had remembered you had a tongue ring, I would have kissed you sooner." ?? stupid stupid. And further, why do I distract myself so with women? Why don't I just do my thing and make something great for the world and then be fulfilled? Why do I feel so busy *and* unproductive? Why do I have to go to work now? permalinkCool 1:54pm JST Monday 23 February 2004 Cool. Today before work I bought tix to LoR III for Wednesday night. Got good seats, too. (assigned seat theaters here) Had a no show my first lesson and made an appointment for tomorrow morning to see an apartment in Tamaplaza. It sounds acceptable, but it's not on the train line I wanted. It is on one of the Jiyugaoka lines, but it's not on Toyoko line. KG Miki was in my second lesson, her first Level 4 lesson. She wouldn't really speak up in the lesson, which kinda made me sad, but hey. Miho was in my fourth lesson with some other cat. Level 3 lesson so I grabbed MindTrap cards and had them ask yes or no questions to figure out the puzzles. The cat split soon after the lesson and I told Miho I'm rocking out of Nova and she asked for my "address in America" so I gave her my email address since I'm not leaving big J. Went to lunch and called KG Miki to say HI, but she was at work so we set a hang out time for tomorrow afternoon. She'll help me look for an apartment. I wasn't sure exactly what she could help me with, but. Back to Nova with my lunch and called another apartment place - *this* one sounds perfect, location-wise. It's in Motosumiyoshi (only a local station, but it's cool) on the Toyoko line (yay) and it's two stops closer to Jiyugaoka than Tsunashima. yay yay! So I'll have Miki go there with me (one stop from where we're meeting (Musashi Kosugi)) and translate if necessary. I was flipping through her file as she worked on puzzles from MindTrap. She only wanted to do the shorter ones. She said, "I can't concentrate long enough to read the long ones," and I go "reallly..." and she's like, "well I can.." and I finished, "you just choose not to." "yeah." She went to Canada for a year or two and was placed in level 2 when she came back to Nova. I hesitated about giving her my email address, but when she said she was quitting Nova soon, that flipped my brain and I was like, "wow; me too" and I gave her my address. She was like, "cool!" as opposed to "what's this?" permalinkafta work 6:21pm JST Monday 23 February 2004 Asuka was in the room next to me in a >M< with Rich as I had a kid class with a senior kid who could just about read "I'M HUNGRY" and "I WISH I HAD A HAMBURGER" They talked about this being Asuka's last lesson; I'm glad I got to witness it, but I had to really work to keep myself from flirting too much with her when I saw her outside the school. I had to keep thinking she smokes she smokes she smokes so I wouldn't try to hang out with her. Neal was going to lunch so I went with him to a curry place and chatted about whatever, focusing on gaijin houses and his experiences from living in one. Now I'm on a slow bus (fast bus, slow traffic) back to Tsunashima. - - - - I'm really pretty pleased with the idea of living in this apartment in Motosumiyoshi. I'll be on the right line, still close to Kawasaki, and closer still to Jiyugaoka. Private room with free internet. Awesome. permalink |
