Dream

I was the leader of a war. This war was human against human, set not in the present exactly, and very loosely run. I had no desire to be the leader of this war, but the position was kinda relegated to me because ther was no one else willing/able to do it. Not that I felt very able, but I kinda faked my way through, by asking my friends what they knew about troop momvement and stuff. The terrain was Japan; we had troops fighting skirmishes on hokkaido and honshu. We had super limited resources - no maps. But we had some bandaids that I improvised into a map; a square band aid for hokkaido, and a couple of square bandaids together to make Honshu.

I didn't really know how to support my generals, so I first thanked them for their efforts. I used a combination of stuff I leared from my men's group training, and winged te rest. I thanked them from my heart and complimented their efforts. Maia Cudhea from YRUU was one of my generals and she was taller than me. I looked into her eyes and placed my right hand over her heart. "Thank you for your efforts here today." She was the last of my generals that I thanked; suddenly their was information from a battlefront. We were fighting dinosaurs according to the TV monitors, and a pile of bandaids had been prepared for application on the wounded.

I dreamt twice that I wrote this dream down. once via emacs, and once with pencil. Then I woke up and wrote it for real.

Dan and I hung out for a bit after my lesson. We met at Motosumiyoshi, grabbed some foodage, then I grabbed the train tickets I've been saving for him. About half are new to his collection, which will probably put him over 100 cards collected.

We hung out by the stream/brook/creek thing, watching sakura petals float downstream. We played Pooh Sticks and sang songs to each other, including animal noises of mountain lions and dogs and ducks. Dan is awesomely fun.

Walked the rest of the way to Kosugi as Dan told me the made up history of a building or some such as we walked past. Hilarious. I showed him the persistent feather in the tracks at Kosugi, and we took the local train to Motosumiyoshi where I got off. He tried to pursuade me to visit Tsunashima with him, but I needed to eat more and such before work.

4:00pm JST Friday 9 April 2004

Eating takoyaki outside, sortakinda hoping that Hitoe and Matteo would be outside again, I heard Eminem emanating from somewhere. "Lose Yourself" came on, and I decided to take the hint; this was my one chance to invite Hitoe and Matteo outside. I soon discovered that the music was coming from their room! Matteo was apparently at work, so Hitoe and I chilled outside for a bit, sharing life stories. She's been in this apartment four years. Wow.

I wanted to keep talking and enjoying the sunshine, but I had to go to work.

4:39pm

Scratch that. I was on my way to work (wearing my sandals, oops) and I called Maiko to see what time I had to start and she was like, "not until 7:45" and I'm like, "whoah."

So I closed 5:30 and I'll go in at 6:15 to see if I can get some lessons earlier.
