Entries this day: HackeySackey_oops Japan Morag Sell_Out Speed_Boarder Tired HackeySackey oops 2:57pm JST Thursday 17 June 2004 Jen and I joined Dan in Tsunashima for some Hackey Sack Jack. I ended up with Jesse's footbag last week when he and I finished playing for the day, and he encouraged me to make sure it had fun in Tunashima (Tuna Island). We named Jesse's sack Jim. Unfortunately, Jim didn't get much kick time; we lost it on top of a sign. We talked to the guard near the building, but he didn't seem too interested in helping us; I don't think he was impressed with our play time. We still had Jack and Jill though, so it was no problem. I sent Jesse an email asking where he got his footbag (and if he had it insured (haha)) so I can buy him another if we don't get his off the sign. No reply from Jesse as yet. Dan got the world's world's world record with forty-eight kicks, but (!), he didn't get it back to me before a man walked by and said, "oh great," which broke Dan's concentration two kicks shy of fifty which requires us to not tally this astonishing feat of footwork as the offical world record, but as an anomally in the Tuna Island Hackey Sackey Wacky History. 6:37pm Update on Jesse's footbag: he called me and I told him it was fine; he must not have gotten my email; I'm not sure what to do now.. permalinkJapan 12:49pm JST Thursday 17 June 2004 And finally, this bit of a mystery: First, figure out everything you can about this picture. If one is Jen, one would discern a list like the following:
To be continued. permalinkMorag 5:14pm JST Thursday 17 June 2004 Saw Morag in the train station; she looks beautiful; energetic, happy, .. and she's taking karate lessons and loves it. "It's the best thing ever." Money. For an instant, when I saw her, I saw Manda. Heart-stop for a second. Woah. Morag is sick of guys (the guy she went on a date with last night likes to watch TV as an activity. He said remorsefully when she asked if he would take her to Pachinko just once for the experience, "oh, you like to do things." Dude! That's what life is about! So I'm hanging out with Hitomi a lot and she likes to *do* things; to skydive and travel and allll sorts of wonderful stuff and janette asks me what's so freaking-out-ish about settling down? permalinkSell Out 11:04pm JST Thursday 17 June 2004 permalinkSpeed Boarder Speed BoarderSpeed Boarder is the small indoor coaster at Joypolis in Odaiba (Southeast Tokyo), Japan. Only one car per "train," and two riders per car. The riders sit side by side and face sideways throughout the ride. Like riding a skateboard. It features some rotations to alternate which side of the track riders are facing, and sends riders through a glass room with a nice (but brief!) view of Tokyo Bay. The first half of the track has the left-hand seat rider in the lead, and most of the turns are 180 degree mousetrap calibre turns. They really sling the riders forward into the soft restraints. The second half of the track is in a rather darker room with lights along the tracks for coolness. The right-hand seat rider is first for this portion of the track, which features the same neck slinging turns. This ride is not for the weak of back. permalinkTired 2:09am JST Friday 18 June 2004 Tired. supposed to be in Shibuya in 7.5 hours. Been fucking around with my site; got google adwords going, but they don't seem to be serving ads for my site yet. That's because they haven't crawled it yet, it seems. I don't know if/when that will happen. I don't know if I will perpetually have no ads because I'm always changing my URL (each day) or what. permalinkprev day next day |
