About last night

7:34am JST Saturday 10 July 2004

Talked to ËÓ about playing frisbee today; we'll meet at ¿·´Ý»Ò±Øand walk to the river, assuming it's not raining, which the weather says it might. She suggested that I make a little ghost-type doll out of paper to request it not rain. I don't know if it will work, but I made a ghost-shape out of two kleenexes last night before bed.

After arriving home from work, I chatted with Olivia some, looking at pictures with her, finding our favorites from past zaniness so I can compile an album of sorts.

I resisted watching Bruce Almighty, a movie that I rather enjoyed when I watched it in the theater, but instead took a shower and went to bed.

I successfully stayed cool last night by leaving my door open instead of running my air conditioner. I haven't run it since I moved into this apartment. In fact, last night, my electricity was switched off at the meter.

This morning I'm going to Jen's uncle's work instead of Gaba.

Jen's uncle's work

9:11am JST Saturday 10 July 2004

I'm at Jen's uncle's work now, getting everything set up for the day. I arrived a bit early (and took a nap against the wall), and they arrived a bit late (after having eaten breakfast at Mackers).

I've just remembered I had a dream where I couldn't turn the volume down on my computer. Each time I turned it off, it wouldn't be off; like its state (off/on) wasn't correctly indicated by its indicator.

RSS

Wow. So I'm a bit behind the times, but I've just read about RSS for getting my site syndicated. It looks way easy in concept, but might be a trick for me to set up an automagic way for perl to maintain the feed's items file, and to ping (if necessary?) the different feed readers.

So, .. I'm wondering wbout the best way to store my .. I could just advertise using my existing format, and not worry about setting up titles (more than the filename) nor descriptions. All that shit can be added later once I have an idea of how I'd like to do it.

I have an existing structure; I can just tack an rss descriptor file to my site and have it point to the most recent entries.

Man I hate people smoking near me..

I've wanted to sorta have different indexes for my site and allow people to search for different types of entries, etc. Like, if it's all indexed in a db, I can sort stuff by date, or by type of file or whatever criteria (of course).. hey is that mutsumi?

Ultimate

5:18pm JST Saturday 10 July 2004

I'm in ¿·´Ý»Ò to meet ËÓ¤µ¤ó for a little fris, but it's raining. So it seems we won't be playing ultimate today. Maybe another time. this time has been a long time in planning; I wonder how long next time will take. Oh- I know why; it took me getting off early on a Saturday for us to hang out during daylight.

5:25pm

Wow; it seems to have quit raining; I wonder if she got my message saying don't worry about changing clothes (from work clothes to ultimate clothes), and whether or not she did, if she changed.

8:39pm

Yes that was Mutsumi, and though it was sprinkling, we went to Tamagawa to play disc. She was a messs at first, but quickly got better to the point that we were throwing 20 and 40 tosses without dropping. She did quite well considering how much wind there was. I enjoyed just playing disc for the first time since I've been here. She was smiling bigtime as well, and that helped me enjoy playing more. I got tired first, I think, but kept on tossing cause she was having so much fun. Then I realized that I was tired partly because my feet were hot, so I took of my shoes (which were pretty soggy from the rain) and that helped me lost myself in the moment again.

A dude with a digital video camera was photographing the sunset near us for a while; we wondered why he was doing that; it wasn't a surprising sunset, but, like most sunsets, it was pretty.

We played until the sun set, and then walked to Shin Maruko in search of takoyaki. I got a bit lost on the way to the station; silly angled streets in Tokyo, but pretty soon recovered my way and made it back to Shin Maruko (we had walked so far that I wanted it to be Musashi-Kosugi, but alas..) Outside many stations is a takoyaki cart vendor, but not Shin Maruko tonight. So we took the train to Musashi-Kosugi and chowed 10 takoyaki each.
