Awesome.

I just put 100,000 yen my savings account. Woohoo! This month my budget is 128,000 yen. I should be able to follow it pretty easily, but it doesn't allow for any big expenditures. There is some new money coming in with a new private student on Saturday nights, and I have just yesterday or so confirmed two new students with Gateway 21, the travel agency slash language-classes-on-the-side company.

So my total income for private students in August will be 3000 * 4 + 5000 * 2 + 2500 * 3 * 4 + 3000 * 4 (if no cancellations).

Smart Pit

Okay, this was pretty cool. I need to pay a bill. I grab a SmartPit card from any one of 6 types of convenience stores. I call the people to whom I owe money and give them the card number. They smurf my account with them to that card number and then they "tell the card" how much I owe. I take the card to the register and pay the bill, receiving a receipt including the name of the company I paid and the services I paid for. (and the amount)

The bill I paid was for the NTT phone line that connects Yahoo!BB service to Dan's apartment. The phone was disconnected cause I hadn't paid the bill in two months.

Super special thanks to Hitomi for navigating me to the P B. We talked to Ken and Melissa, two people who work (or maybe volunteer) for the organization, which is pretty much busy as fuck right now so no one has had a chance to send me an application. (The desire to retrieve an application motivated my trip to their office today.)

When they asked me why I want to rock out on the P B, I was basically like, "I want to do something for the world."

I didn't ramble on about my palm reading experience where Richard Unger told me exactly that I am asked to do something for the world this lifetime; I just told them that's what I want to do.

On my way to work, I saw Miki on her way to work in Motosumiyoshi. I asked if she wanted to hang with me on Saturday, but she won't be working in Motosumiyoshi this Saturday, so .. no; we won't hang out. Ah well.

I was pretty silly at work today; didn't really get into teaching the book, so was happy to have students who equally didn't want to use the books. First student was new to me; she's a university student and has pretty high level grammar awareness, but just doesn't speak up enough to practice her English skills. She is also learning Chinese, which I think is pretty cool. I asked her about her dreams and she said she wanted to go to Iceland. So I googled iceland japanese exchange and found a site with people from Iceland looking for Japanese exchange partners. Put the link through notlong.com and into her record. Should have named the ____ something memorable; I can't think of it now, and she won't likely choose to memorize it. Ah well; next time I will.

Hung out with Mutsumi from ultimate after work. We chatted and chowed at Denny's and then wandered around Jiyugaoka a bit. She's pretty cool and I hope to stay in touch with her longer than just what is convenient by proximity.
