I have a bit of a headache that I believe can be attributed to using a pillow to support my neck while watching _Monsters Inc_ last night. I should have just gone to sleep when Hitomi did; she watched almost none of the movie, and I've seen it before, but it kept being funny so I watched it.

I ate a pizzaman that Hitomi's mom bought yesterday for Hitomi's and my breakfast. Best I understand is that when Hitomi sees her mom, her mom is willing to buy food for her to help support Hitomi being out of her mom's house. Not sure if that's particularly accurate, but it seems to be.

The girl across from me on the train is dressed in what they call Lolita fashion. There are many variants, and I can't really name all the clothes items, but she's wearing all black:

1 inch platform shoes with 2 inch heels, thigh high stockings, frilly petticoat skirt thing, frilly sleeveless top with stretchy fabric on top, long sleek gloves that go to her mid-biceps.

Dream

Today while walking to the station, I clearly heard a voice that sounded like Shoko saying "Rob" but it came clearly from a house that I've never been to before, nor have any reason to believe Shoko has been to before.

At Kikuna station, a guy said, "HI" and "have a nice day" to me, and I'm like, why? So I checked to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I jumped, and came back to the ground immediately. Okay, I'm not dreaming. I checked to make sure I'm wearing shorts, two matching socks and shoes, T-shirt, backpack (zipped closed), nothing strange stuck on my head... Weird. I don't know who he was or why he identified me out of the crowd.

But it does remind me that I had a dream:

I was at Suzanne's house, her new beautiful reallllly nice house with inlaid tile bathtub that was huge, with a mosaic of some west Texas plain. It was dirty with workers' muddy footprints, so I took the opportunity to P and clean the mud at the same time. But the opportunity didn't seem to relieve my need to P or clean the tub.

Work

4:51pm JST Sunday 19 September 2004

Work was pretty good today; I was in a super pissy mood at first, with people all in my way and walking slowly and walking without paying attention to where they were walking, like a bunch of mindless zombie robots. And when I tried to give an extra yen or two to get back a smaller number of bills for change, the woman was like, "oh, this is too much money," and gave me all this change back.

I counted it super slowly and meanly. "1."

"2."

"3."

"4."

"5."

Five! Thank you very much. Now I have five singles. I could have a single five, but now I have five singles; thanks for giving me correct change so poorly!

How on earth could that make me angry?

I mulled it over; something about me feeling like I'm not living my life efficiently. Didn't get to the root cause.

Had a nap though, and felt better.

Hung out with Satoko and her friend Takako, both from KQ Kawasaki Nova. Satoko has just returned from a year in Cali (near Sally) and this is the first time I've seen her since then. We went to Jonathan's for dinner and then hung out at my house with Hitomi for a bit because Satoko is looking for a place to live. I suggested my building because there are plenty of people with whom she can speak and maintain her English.

I didn't remember Takako when I first saw her, but during the night, I began to recall her as being a very quiet student. I was like, "I remember you! You never said anything!" which might not be very supportive of her English progress, but she didn't seem to disagree with my claim.

She and Hitomi spoke Japanese very quickly.
