Entries this day: OM Site TJ_Bike_bags Wild_skatin_adventure_nine hang_out louise OM 4:48pm JST Saturday 13 November 2004 OM was pretty good today. I got 500 yen extra change back, which was weird cause there was a supervisor supervising the transaction. I gave Jen some printouts that ended up in my bag after they were printed officially without having accessed the internet, for some irrational fear that we're more susceptible to viruses and such if we surf than if we're just connected. (okay, yes, strictly speaking we are, but not much.) - - - - Hitomi sent me two pictures with her phone; she's traveled somewhere near a volcano and the area looks really interesting for exploration. I imagine I'll find stuff like that when TJ Bike and I go rockin' around the country. I've pretty much broken up with Mikiko, the cute genki pigtail clerk at the convenience store across the street. Jen pointed out that I get too attached to people who are insignificant in my life. Hmmm. True. So I broke up with Mikiko. Not that she ever knew we were an item, or that we went anywhere or did anything together, including talk, except I found out her name and her days off (which I've nearly forgotten). I studied Japanese today; rewrote a bunch of sentences that I had written for homnework and then had Ayana's corrections added. permalinkSite 5:05pm JST Saturday 13 November 2004 I've gotten a couple of 404 errors. I think one was somebody exploring but the other probably was not. I haven't researched it yet. I need to add the HTTP_REFERRER to the items the 404 email sends me. I thought I had already, but it doesn't seem to be there. Could be misspelled.?? I worked a bit more on moving my Wild Skating Adventures into my journal pages. I'm really happy to have them both in chronological order, and easily retrievable through the skate slice index. When I'm on the train, and I think someone is watching me type, I like to reach up with my left pinky and turn the screen off, then keep typing. My little way of being a hypocritical jerk, I guess. Everyone in the world can read it when it's online, but *you* can't read it now. It's a little bit different because when it's online there's no personal connection. Interesting psychology could be explored here. permalinkTJ Bike bags 5:11pm JST Saturday 13 November 2004 Nearly at Motosumiyoshi station now. Then I'll ride Mimi Bike home and switch to TJ Bike and.. wait-a-minute.. I should ride Mimi Bike to the bike place and get some new brakes. - - - - I chose to ride TJ Bike, just in case he needed to be measured. Good thing, cause he did. The bags we ordered are pretty similar to the ones I had ordered before. I think it will all be good. permalinkWild skatin adventure nine 6:55pm JST Saturday 13 November 2004 Nice synchronicity: I'm in the process of moving my Wild Skating Adventures from the /skate directory (don't bother going there; there's really nothing to see) into my journal. I just read Wild Skating Adventure 9, which includes the following description of a moment I remember clearly: We went to Allen Center and played disc up there for a good 30 minutes. I looked out over the edge of the building at the cars scurrying along I-45, and I began to imagine what my life will be like in 10 years from now.......will I still be skating, or will I just have to remember this view forever? That was 9 years, 10 months ago. I have a better idea of what my life will be like 10 years from then. I wonder what my life will be like 9 years, 10 months from *now*. Will I have written a book? Will I be a millionaire? Will I be happily married? Will I be living someplace warm? I hope so, on all four counts. Those seem like good goals. permalinkhang out 11:42pm JST Saturday 13 November 2004 Hung out in Dean (and Shoko's) room with them and Jeff playing video games tonight. Started with Halo 2 (my first time to play and I have *NO* idea why people get addicted to that game) and then did a car driving game (weak compared to the Grand Theft Auto series) and then Tekken on Playstation. I just hit random buttons, sometimes with the controller upside-down to let different fingers do the tapping. Did pretty well with the character Christie (apparently the one "every beginner uses") against the others, but didn't actually win overall. Still had fun. But, now my clothes smell like smoke. Nighmare. permalinklouise 11:46pm JST Saturday 13 November 2004 Louise called me while I was at Dean's; she invited me over for a movie and stuff. Called her back and thanked her, but didn't talk long because cellphones are expensive for chatting. Really glad for the invite! permalinkprev day next day |
