Entries this day: AM_dream Bad_Santa Good_Santa Good_grief Hitomi gateway_data1 gateway_data2 z_gateway_data3 AM dream 7:31am JST Thursday 16 December 2004 Jackie and others at the house were on health food kicks, and we all seemed to live in one big room. Jackie had a home hair salon trick of having a woman put her head in the oven briefly to both singe and dry her hair. She encouraged me to make a compress out of a super sharp crystal by grinding up corn, in which this chemical was present, and adding tea leaves (which looked like dried seaweed flakes) and something else for flavoring. I was pressing corn with a fork near the sink and she was adding things to it as they came to her mind. We were starting our own little cottage industry, and I thought, hey, what mineral is this chemical? We'll just grow it in water and not have to buy it at the store! Lower our costs by a longshot. And then my alarm went off. permalinkBad Santa 8:47am JST Thursday 16 December 2004 Last night Cesar from Span asked me what I'd be doing tomorrow. I said, without hesitation, "I'm going to be Santa Claus!" He goes, "you can't just say that; you must prepare a person for such a thing before you say something like that." Hahaha. So today I'm going to be Santa Claus at Jen's kindergarten class that she got to teach when Dan left, who got the job from Lubo last year when he was Santa for 1 day and then quit cause it was too far away. Oh, I'm bad Santa because I got on the express train I thought, but this is a local train! I don't know how that happened! It appears that either I misread the platform number (1 versus 2 or 3) or the trains were not on time. Or I misread the time 8:42am, as opposed to all the other times it could be in a day. I've been practicing my Eminem Santa rap: Hey little kiddies, on my lap Guess who's back with a brand new rap and I don't mean rap as in a new case of child molestation accusates! Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas! Thanks, Em; I'm stealing your shit. 9:19am Woohoo! Santa made it on time! Santa even has a moment to eat some breakfast! permalinkGood Santa 11:25am JST Thursday 16 December 2004 That was the most funnest job Santa has ever had!! Went in as Rob, strange but fun friend of Jen's; met the principal and some of the teachers, and hid out in the principal's office while all of the kids were led from their classrooms into the auditorium. To the magical photocopier room, where presto-change-o I became Santa Claus, with a kimono style towel folded and tied to my front to make a paunch and red felt pants and red felt jacket with real big white fuzzy buttons and ridiculously fake bear and eyebrows double-side taped to my face. To the back of the stage where Jen and I commented about how well the parents sang and how crazily they acted on the way out, passing Santa and just going a bit crazy with waving and nearly flipping their lids to see Santa. Jen was like, "wha??? it's just some guy in a suit," and I was like, "don't bring me down, baby; just be genki, like Santa!" To the actual back stage I went and when it was my time to come onstage, I went on and pretended I couldn't find the stage at first, getting lost at the piano, then focusing on the curtains, pat-pat-patting them looking for the stage, and then arriving at the other end of the stage, and then confusedly turning toward the kids.. "ah! there you are!" oh what comedic brilliance is not required to entertain myself entertaining 3, 4 and 5 year olds. I really had fun giving out presents, and I was taken by how much time the parents had taken to wrap like 400 gifts of various sizes, all perfectly counted and perfectly wrapped. I just sat there as staff gave me presents to give to the little kids who came up in lines, one at a time with no more pseaking than arigato or thank you, except at the very end, some of the girls started to tell me their names. Miki and some other. While they were coming up, I alternated between babbling rapping and and commenting on the kids' behavior and whether genki or shy; it was a ton of fun!! I wanted to get pics of the transformation from Rob into fat, white bearded Santa, but these pics will have to do. After the show, I trooped through the hallways, waving into all the classrooms and peering in through some of the windows; really living up the opportunity to be crazy genki Santa. I'm Santa! I can do anything! I was blessed with 10,000 yen for all my effortless antics, and even got a piece of cake and cup of tea as a bonus. __And__ got a bit of Christmas Spirit. permalinkGood grief 2:05pm JST Thursday 16 December 2004 Mimibike was towed while I played Santa. Got to take a nice walk and get her for 2500 yen. permalinkHitomi 2:08pm JST Thursday 16 December 2004 Thanks to Hitomi for her working in getting our trip to Hokkaido all sorted out. permalinkgateway data1 2:12pm JST Thursday 16 December 2004 CD/track Wave I / Discovery 2: Advanced Focus 10 body position flat on back with legs bent CD player Panasonic SL-CT510 headphones Audio-Technica ATH-T3 ambient temperature 20 C clothing red flannel pants, white T-shirt, red shirt with collar working nostril(s) right emotional state calm, awake physical tight neck muscles head fine stomach happy pain/soreness phone/door off/locked time allowed 100 minutes ambient light daylight through curtains ambient noise construction guys talking outside my window date/time 2:15pm JST Thursday 16 December 2004 location Millenium House, room 20 2:53pm ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz. I seem more able to zip between Focus 1 and Focus 10, though. During the middle of the exercise, I felt an uncomfortable angst in my legs; they wanted to *move*, like they were full of energy that had to be released. It's the same feeling that my mom called "growing pains," and which I associate with having exercised a lot during the day. I think next time I'll move to the next CD, or maybe do Discover 4 again (Recharge and Release, I think). permalinkprev day next day |
