Ugh. I'm sick. Headache and sore throat that I felt a bit last night but went to the movie anyway. Crap.

I'm gonna hafto cancel both my students today.

I cooked chicken noodle soup last night, with thanks to janette for teaching me how. I gargled salt water this morning, with thanks to my dad for teaching me how.

I did a singing gargling of 2 Unlimited's "Twilight Zone" (I think), though I doubt many people could have recognized the song.

Could possibly be considered feeling better, but it still hurts to swallow or to muscularly extract snot from the back of my sinus. Lungs are clear; right nostril is clear; poo is solid. Still headachey. I keep developing a pool of saliva in my mouth because I won't swallow automatically; my brain has simply turned off that mechanism; it hurts too much.

I took a shower, just basking in the hot water (didn't actually wash with soap, just rinsed). Afterward Richard fixed me a cup of green tea. Lovely.

Read in the paper that some leaders in Iraq are telling citizens that they will burn in hell if they don't vote. Other leaders in Iraq are saying we will kill you and your family if you vote.

What a nightmare.

My inner ears hurt when I swallow. My spine is sore and feels like it needs to be popped everywhere along its length.

Swallowing hurts, but not as much as earlier. I've just watched Cube 2: Hypercube, which had a really good basic tool, but weird overall story.

I ate the rest of my chicken noodle soup. I'm still hungry, but I don't want to go out. I can eat some cheese and nori later.

This is just ridiculous. My throat is really swollen super hurts to swallow, but everything else is fine. Okay, relatively fine. My head hurts a bit, and my spine wants to stretch in strange ways, but my sinuses are (as) fine (as normal), and my lungs are clear.

(Nurse) Jackie loaned me her thermometer and gave me four NUROFEN tablets: ibuprofen 200 mg, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg. Take two tonight, one tomorrow morning and one tomorrow night.

I had to replay the sentence in my head to get it to stay.

Temperature = h.LE

Oh, that's upside down. 37.4 C, "a little bit high," she says.

She loaned me her thermometer to use it tomorrow.
