Entries this day: AM Good_morning Tsunami_application del.icio.us trackbackattackjack zzzz AM 5:34am JST Saturday 29 January 2005 When I got up around 5:10, my temperature was 37.0 C I set my alarm for 5am which was 9 hours after I took my first dose of medication. I'm supposed to take it 3 times a day, but I'm shifting a little bit closer to every 8 hours. If I take it right now, it will be 9.6 hours. I still have to eat first; my ramen is cooling now. permalinkGood morning 7:47am JST Saturday 29 January 2005 I've been awake for a few hours, reading the online hacker dictionary and posts about the original smiley :-) and about moveable types trackback thing. I ate so slowly that my bowl of ramen got cold before I finished it. There is a hint of less pain when swallowing, but my mind still shuns the idea of swallowing, fearing the pain. permalinkTsunami application 1:33pm JST Saturday 29 January 2005 Okay, I've been telling people I'm going to help with the tsunami-scrambled area, but haven't actually applied. I've just spent over an hour writing these four things, so I'm saving them here in case the web-form eats them. After years of working with computers, I know when to save my work. "This is a solved problem," says Fred. 3:59pm oops. I read the terms and conditions and noticed the opportunity is for Sri Lanka, not Thailand. Better change that first paragraph. Yay. I did some research on Sri Lanka, opening about 50 different windows and tabs, and lost the window with the web stuff I had written. Except I saved it already. permalinkdel.icio.us 8:48pm JST Saturday 29 January 2005 I know what a deli is. But I wasn't sure what del.icio.us was when I saw it. I thought someone had just styled their adjective to make it look fab.u.lous.ly important. Then I saw someone else do the same thing with the same spelling. And, as indicated in Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" I knew they were both freaks, or onto something. Google solved the mystery, though not as quickly as I would have guessed. Oh man, I had lost track of the original point of this entry. del.icio.us permalinktrackbackattackjack 9:46pm JST Saturday 29 January 2005 Okay, that was a big blip in time. I had been reading about trackbacks and I'm not sure that I'm interested in using them on my site. I might just give it a bit of a shot to see what the big fuss is about. Maybe I'll do it on this entry, as a test. Test TrackBackI think I see what the problem is. To make this work, I'd have to smurf tb.cgi to handle my site's version of trackbackID. 11:45pm Aha! I didn't have to smurf that at all. I'll change the code back. 12:28am Yawn. I don't understand why my trackback thing pops up a window *and* changes the main page, while this other guy's trackback thing only pops up the window. That's the functionality I want. I'm getting tired though... 12:34am Okay; I don't see it. I gots to go to bed. permalinkzzzz 12:59am JST Sunday 30 January 2005 For the tonsillitis record, it can be said that sometimes swallowing hurts, and sometimes swallowing doesn't hurt at all. permalinkprev day next day |
