My dreams felt so *serious* today, like I shouldn't wake up. But there was nothing I could really write; none of the images stuck in my mind; just the gravity. Before I got up, I gave a little mental blessing to let the dream come back when necessary.

Dan and I played a new game today.

One person lies on his/her back, looking directly up at the light string-pull thing, the other person raises then drops the string toward the lier's face. The game: don't flinch.

We each did poorly at first, but got better. On his last attempt, Dan mockingly cringed like he was about to be flattened by a sumo wrestler.

We don't yet have a name for the game.

This morning is super beautiful weather; clear sunny just a slight occassional breeze and the perfect balance of cool air and warm sun to give an aparent temperature of ? degrees, and it feels great!

TJ Bike is basking in the sun after his sponge bath. I cleaned the spots where his stickers will go. Need to get pics.

Wow! Looking on the Mapple I got from Andrew, I see how to get to Yokosuka, which is where Rene lives (US Navy base).. I'll ask him if I can crash at his place one night. Maybe that can be my first overnight stop.

Went to a local bike shop to buy a new back wheel for Mimibike. The guy basically said it would be less expensive to buy a new bike (Mimibike is a US made bike, so he'd have to order new stuff) so we talked about using a hammer to BHANG the wheel back into shape, but he settled on just tweaking the spokes' tension to fix it. The bend was lateral, not vertical.

The wheel is amazingly straight now! Only 200 yen; less than the price of a small lunch.

Today I had Motoko for two lessons. She looks exactly like my cousin Barbie!

During my unplanned break after those lessons (I showed her TJ Bike and) while taking a nap, I heard Jesse call me into the break room where he and Kelly presented me with a vibrating stuffed Rody! He's small, but huge compared to my other Rody teaching assistants (as described by Ayami yesterday).

We had a bit of a celery eating party until time for the next lesson, for which I had Kimiko. She's tall and sexy (but smokes and has some fake teeth) and she never studies outside Gaba, but we always have fun together. Today we worked on "for" in the context of "I did this for you." I teach that 'for' generally means 'why'.

Now I'm on my planned break eating my traditional Kebab Farm pita. Delicious!

Tired.

Rode TJ Bike home and met Dan, Kei, Lubo, Jen, and Tets at DWs in Motosumiyoshi. We sang, ate, drank, harassed Riki the ramen vendor, went to karaoke, sang on the way back, got pictures on the train crossing with a construction guy (Jen's camera) and had fun fun fun fun.

Dan said we had to sing until we got back and took off our shoes, so I took off my shoes at started talking to him. Dan was somehow funnier when he did the same thing; like he did it randomly while I had done it obstinately.

We went to the karaoke place on Tsunashima street cause it's cheaper than the one near our house, but the one near our house has a better Eminem selection.

I commented to Jen that I really want Sally to meet Dan, and when I thought about why, I realized it's because I am genkier when I'm around Dan. So somewhere in me I find genkiness; therefore I can do it when she is here and Dan is not.

Dan is on a thin futon in my room and we're chatting a bit; he said he might come to Tokyo for a weekend (cheap flights) and work at his old kindergarten class and a private student and be 1000 yen ahead overall. Awesome. And get to see Sally.
