Dream

9:21am JST Monday 14 March 2005

In the entrance of a movie theater, Meg Robinson was watching a moving/living model she put together of a music performance she had seen the previous week. I had bbeen therer too, actually and she asked me which song I liked best. I was like, "the one that went 'Bahhh bah bah bah bahhh bahhh bah bah bah bahh bahh bah bah bah bahhhh'" and she was like, "no, that was the other band," and I'm like, "oh, well, it's a good thing I remember anything at all; I usually don't."

I asked her to sing part of the song she liked best, and when she did, I recognized that I had seen that band as well. "Ah," I said, "they played at the front of the building."

Earlier, I had been talking to some ultimate (Saturday Night Specials) and KTRU people about someone who was in trouble with the police and Jon (who used to live drunkenly next to me) was there telling some wack story to Genki Man Dan, who knew that Jon would just blather on for hours, so Dan interrupted him and asked me a question to change topics and I was glad Dan recognized the amount of time Jon could talk, but didn't want him to think we didn't care to listen to him.

Or something like that.

Nervous

9:48am JST Monday 14 March 2005

I'm about to call Sally. I'm nervous. Actually, scared. Like calling a famous DJ and being on the radio nervous.

I left a message.

1:36pm

I've called and hung up on her voice mail message about 3 times today.

Today

1:00pm JST Monday 14 March 2005

Today I've been cleaning my computer's hard drive; tossing all the emails (that have been copied to gmail) and I created a gmail account just for archiving files. It's 3% full now. I can't email files over 10 megabytes though. Yahoo!BB (broadband) says I can't send files that big. It may also be a gmail limit. I'll see about sending them via robnugen.com and if that doesn't work, I may try using tar on the files to cut them up. But then I just gotta untar them later; arg.

1:44pm

Gotta go to work soon.

I called Fred on 2speak.com, but the service cut out occassionally. 2speak is too cheap.

I called him back and he gave me some ideas about my P To Da B interview.

As a result, I had an email that looked like this:

To: support@2speak.com
Subject: poor line quality

I just used the service to call 512-[fred's number]

on the pb we all want to meet people. so today we are making discussing plans

hand out list of things on schedule

I AM dancing tomorrow at 3. what are you doing at 5?

we are meeting at 4 tomorrow.

He told me about some wiggidy wack 2 Point Theory that even he doesn't understand, and I described how I've considered cracking the system at OM, but haven't found an undetectable / non-risky way to do it.

I had a double chosen lesson with Haruna, an woman with an unusual Japanese name that turned out to be the same Haruna who I knew from Kawasaki Nova! I guess it's more likely for me to meet the same person at two different schools than to meet two people named Haruna.

During our lessons I was explaining the difference between "lottery" and "lottery ticket." I made some lottery tickets with some strips of paper and sold both of them to her for two black beans. After the lesson I mused these lottery tickets were nearly as valuable as actual lottery tickets. I presented them to Jay in this way to have a laugh and he seemed ready to buy them.

Kerim popped his head over the cube wall to see what kind of shenanigans we were doing and I said, "I'm trying to explain that they have no value, but.."

Jay bought them from me for 100 yen each. Awesome.

I decided to make them a bit more valueable: I wrote my email and journal addresses on them.

Went to lunch and Kyoko called me!!!!!! She called to thank me for the double lesson in which I said she did not pass the test and needed to review, and I helped her review and made her some flashcards and all that.. She took the test yesterday and got 92% !!!!!!!!! Awesome!!!

1:29am

The rest of my day was at least as nice. I had Kozue for a chatty lesson (and noted that she filled in my 9:15pm lesson for tomorrow (the last one I had available) which is a nice blessing; she's definitely in the top 5 list of people I'd want to choose me).

The guy from Canon said he was happy to see that he had caught me; he thought I had already left and was surprised to see my name for his lesson.

Akiko finished out my day and I wanted to invite her to eat dinner with Michael and I, but chose to leave it at just giving her my email address (for the Nth time), but this time also giving her a sample email that she could send me given that she said she didn't really know what to say in English in an email.

Also gave her a hand written lottery ticket plus her choice of Rody horses.

Went to chow with Michael and Seth, who creatively wrote his email address for me. Riki happened to be in Kosugi station, so he joined us. I accidentally bought a pizza ticket so I gave it to Seth.

I'm tired. Turns out Riki's first name is actually Nobuo.

Wow.
