Entries this day: AM Work hat_lossage jasmine's_dad zz_Karaoke_adventure AM 1:17pm JST Saturday 26 March 2005 Made Roboyaki for Hitomi, Sally, Kelly and myself; included a banana version which Hitomi didn't like, but I liked just fine. She said bananas are okay with pancakes, but not in an omlette. Er, Roboyaki. Hung out and chatted and they looked for what they want to do today. Kabuki. Satoko met us at Kosugi station and they are going to scope the kabuki stuff. Hitomi headed home and I'm headed to work, where I plan to coordinate my calendar with the deadlines for getting ready for P To Da B adventures!! I still haven't 100% read the email sent yesterday. Got the general idea. This morning walked with Sally and Kelly to a convenience store to get stamps and knick knacks. Kelly bought some Pokky for everyone to share. (chocolate dipped cookie stick things) permalinkWork 3:43pm JST Saturday 26 March 2005 Pretty easy today. Four transactions. End result = -0.7 Q. - - - - Hahaha Jen got me: I plugged in my computer to let it charge. There are some guys here today so I plugged it in over in the kitchen area, and put it on the sink strainer. Later, I moved it over so I could do the dishes. I put it on an electric grill thing (after verifying with my hand that the grill was off). Later later, Jen was like, "ah! that's on! It's always on!" pointing to the grill. I looked over and saw that she was talking about my computer cooking on the grill. Saw the orange light glowing and freaked. Oh wait; that's the orange light of my computer's power supply. Oh, Jen! You're such a kidder! I told her the story about Wende and the CD player laser. permalinkhat lossage 5:04pm JST Saturday 26 March 2005 Crap. I left the cap Hitomi knitted for me on the train. Again. I feel like an idiot for this. I am at Motosumiyoshi and they are going to search the train whie it's waiting in Jiyugaoka in about 10 minutes. I was able to tell him what car, what side, etc I had been on. The unfortunate thing about this is I don't know fo sho that I lost it on this gtrain. It could have been the other train line. Keikyu line. If they don't find it in Jiyugaoka, I will ask the Keikyu line guys tomorrow on my way to work. I had been super focused on reading my P To Da B materials (timeline) carefully making notes as to my questions etc. I will make a check sheet in my calendar and online and make sure everything goes perfectly smooothly for my great adventure around the world! We will meet the teachers from the previous voyage to get the inside scoop from them about what happened, etc. That will be pretty close to leaving time, like within a few days. Right about now I am going to head to my crib and get started on putting my checklist online. updatelog.com Found this site through a free todo-list site sent by Dude, who hoped that google would incorporate such a thing with gmail. That would be definitely fly. After that I will meet Hitomi and we'll check in with Sally, Kelly and Satoko in Asakusa area to see if we should rock up there to hang out with them. They wanted to see a kabuki show, which I pretty much have had no interest in seeing cause I've heard reports that they are totally boring, like opera with no singing, but een less intelligble. Even Japanese people watching fell asleep, reported Jen (who fell asleep. P Phone here at the station, maybe that means they found my hat! Whooo! Nope. No hat was found. They will look again in Shibuya and I will talk to Keikyu tomorrow. permalinkjasmine's dad 7:03pm JST Saturday 26 March 2005 Wow! Knock on the door (harder than I expected for Jasmine nor Sally) and it was Jasmine's dad!! Wow! I'm impressed that he got here without a map; he just kept asking people for directions to my address. Quite a challenge for one who doesn't know Japanese. But he can read kanji; he grew up on Hong Kong til he was 19. Talked to him probably 30 minutes and now he's headed back to the train station to wait for Jasmine who we think could take another hour to arrive. Hope not; we'll see! permalinkzz Karaoke adventure 10:08am JST Sunday 27 March 2005 Jasmine and her dad showed back up at my room not too much later; I was super impressed that she made it to Motosumiyoshi alone! We chowed ramen near the station, waiting for Sallitachi to arrive back from Kabuki. JazzyDaddy had to go back and chose not to go to karaoke with us. Two hours of huge fun at karaoke box in Motosumiyoshi. We wanted to extend, but were not allowed cause someone had made a reservation. - - pictures go here - - Dropped Kelly off at home and went to karaoke box on Tsunashima street for three hours! Utterly incredibly fabulously fun! I will freely admit I was in seventh heaven sitting on cloud nine singing karaoke with these beautiful genki women. The songs are still dancing in my head. The huge bouncy genki smile on Hitomi's face was priceless. More priceless than any AmEx commercial. - - pictures go here - - This, for me, is fun. permalinkprev day next day |
