Entries this day: AM Classes Swimming kamau zzzz AM 8:10am ICT Sunday 05 June 2005 (day before Sri Lanka) I am an hour early; I hadn't set the time back on my phone; I'm thinking I'll just stay up cause I am awake. 2:20pm JST Monday 05 September 2005: right now I am listening to Tape 5 and am wondering what day all this happened on. At this point in the cruise I wasn't careful to say the date each time I made a new entry. That's surprising because I think I woulda learned that lessson after I learned it when I had my hand written diary with days on end without the full time date month and year. Right now I'm listening to a huge blank gap in the tape where apparently it was in Play mode and just wasted tape riding around in my pocket. The good thing: it's easy to transcribe. I've got my blue schedule book that Natalie made for us (I laminated mine (and most teachers did theirs as well)) so I can use that to compare with the tape to see if I can tell when things happened. permalinkClasses 11:10am ICT Sunday 05 June 2005 (day before Sri Lanka) We had a good class today. It's interesting; the All Girls' class has gelled less than the mixed class. I'm not sure if it's because they are all girls or if it's cause they are all girls and I am not, or what's the dealio. I have a brainwave that says it's not whoohoo! because I put them together hoping it would be whoohoo! and that they would bond having lots to discuss, but they just don't want to discuss anything in front of me. I trust they will gel and be awesome today. 11:42am My computer is importing digital video tape that I took in Vietnam. I haven't done laundry in a while so I'm free balling. Heh heh. I saw Hitomi a little while ago at the tour desk, but she didn't seem to see me. It's happened before that I've seen her but she didn't see me, but after that occassion she was like, "aw no, I wasn't mad.." I dunno if it's the same this time, but that's the way it was. The last transaction we had included me telling her how to do her journal online, and that I was going to do a tour and therefore not scuba diving with her in Jamaica, so she may be mad about that. I dunno. 12:22pm 8 minutes to class; I gotta run down to my room. Just had lunch with Greg and Kanae, and for a moment, Mariko (with braces(!)), and I was like ":-)".. Man. I'm in my room to get my computer, which is still not done downloading digital video from my camcorder. 7.3 gigs free. It has several clips to download. 4:12pm Class was great. Everytime they wouldn't say anything, I'd be all, "so what do you guys think?" And they would be all, And I was like, "you guys have *got* to say *something*" so I told them to stand up and sing, "if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands..." and we did the whole song with three versus (clap yer hands; stomp yer feet; say hooray!), and I was like, "okay, anytime you guys won't say anything, we are going to stand up and sing this song." And *TWICE* I made us all stand up and sang the song cause they are just like, [silent] After class I went to salsa lesson with Adriana and Natalie up on Sunshine Bar. Now I'm about to go to the pool. Some of the video clips from Vietnam are cool. (but as of this transcription process (5 September 2005) I don't know which ones nor where they are nor if I even have them any more) permalinkSwimming 5:05pm ICT Sunday 05 June 2005 Just kicked it in the pool for a while with Shawn, Greg and Kin in the small pool and then the jaccuzzi today. We did handstands and silly stuff; Shawn clapped his feet while upside down and I did monkey flips and Greg did back flips. I'm a couple minutes late to help go plan Arabian Night. Right about now I'm going to go see what time it is up there. No pun intended. Well, it was somewhat intended. permalinkkamau 7:30pm ICT Sunday 05 June 2005 Just finished our GET meeting and are about to go to dinner. I gave Kamau 20 blank CDs and cases and 20,000 yen and he gave me back 20 not-blank CDs and 0 yen. Nicole just gave me a 3000 yen IOU. 9:45pm Just played Silent Football with four of the girls from Happy Wonderful Girls class. They were making very few errors, and were like boom boom boom just slammin' the football around. Very impressive. But, of course, they didn't tattle upon one another. - - - - I recorded Kamau's _Lone Gunman_. It's far too fast and too much for me to be willing to transcribe it. It's about 5 minutes into side B of tape 5. permalinkzzzz 12:17am ICT Monday 06 June 2005 We will arrive in Sri Lanka in a little less then 7 hours. I was just listening to Kin play piano again, this time in Winjammer. She has been playing for 20 years (and she is 23 years old). Pretty awesome. Ah shit; I have to do one more thing tonight. copy pictures. 12:18am I have decided not to copy the pictures tonight; I'll sleep for 6 or 7 hours and then do it in the morning. That way my brain will be on and I won't miss anyone who may still add pictures at 1am. Tonight Kin taught me some vocabulary. She obviously has little teaching practice, but she taught me ¤æ¤ì¤ë the verb that means the ship is tilting. permalinkprev day next day |
