Fried power supply

8:24am ANAST Friday 26 August 2005

My computer power supply is fried. It was plugged in and the end that goes into the computer was soaked in water in the porthole. Uck.

Harada

9:09am ANAST Friday 26 August 2005

This morning I ate breakfast with a man who calls himself Cowboy Harada. He is quite the talker. I am in Dvorak layout, and it's getting easier for me. I am sure I will be able to transcribe my notes this way.

State of My Life

9:17am ANAST Friday 26 August 2005

State of My Life Address

  1. I am using Dvorak keyboard layout.

  2. I am on P.B's 49th Global Voyage; we are almost done. It has been quite an incredible ride.

  3. The C key popped off my keyboard; I broke it when I rearranged my keys. D'oh!

  4. My computer power supply got a bit fried; the end of the plug soaked in water while it was plugged in. Now when I plug it into the wall, it glows as if it is also plugged into the computer.

  5. I have been hanging out with Katt, a Kiwi from Wellington. She laughs loudly.

  6. Francois is back safely.

  7. My back is sore from sleeping in these cramped beds.

  8. I'm not sure about my finances; I plan to get that sorted once I get back to Japan, buy tickets to Texas and Palestine (Jerusalem), fly to those places (with a stop in DC for anti-war protest 24-26 September) and hang out and work, respectively.

  9. 9:44am

I just finished writing the State of My Life all in Dvorak layout.

    Two emails

    HI Kellie!

I don't yet know when we will be done exactly, but I know a few things:

    1) I have many stories!
    2) We will arrive in Yokohama on 30 August around 7:30am, but
    3) GET Teachers prolly can't get off till noon
    4) We are supposed to help unload passengers' luggage in Yokohama Port.
    5) The boat will leave the port at 2:00pm
    6) I have some boxes that need to go somewhere. (Your place? Texas? Hell?)
    7) You are basically the first person I want to see,
for your stability and shared interest in PB.
    8) I want to go out for a final overnight adventure with PB peeps.
    9) I will not tell Hitomi where you live. It's still an issue.

At your place, I just want internet, food, and floor for a few days
in exchange for all the stories you want....

This email was written in Dvorak layout.

    janette!

Do you remember the days when you were a slow typist? Well, I am in
my own set of those days because I have switched my keyboard to Dvorak
layout. Fred may have told you about it; basically the most used keys
are on the home row, the center of the keyboard, for easy access. I
am getting faster at using this layout...

The ship is really rocky now; we are in a storm and I love it!! I
may go outside in a bit.

But none of this is why I'm writing - I will be back in the US soon
and would love to see you!! I don't know where/how/what you are
doing, but if it would be possible to see you, please let me
know... I can exchange innumerable stories for food.

    Also, I plan to attend an anti-Iraq-war march in DC 24-26 September;
do you know if Johnny is sending a bus up there?

I will scope my finances in Japan; there is a small chance I will go
directly to Palestine/Israel and not stop in the US.

    argh Hitomi

pm ANAST Friday 26 August 2005

Super busy today and Hitomi wrote me a letter wanting to meet again and I wrote her a letter that I was too busy and I cannot meet her and I can't even meet her at 2pm tomorrow, but I can meet her at 12 to 1:30 which I think is *more* than fucking generous.

    date with Reiko

pm ANAST Friday 26 August 2005

In the middle of Reiko's date with all the GET Boys (male GET Teachers) I suddenly wonder why Dave seems so friendly (he's like, "yah if you come to Cambridge, give me a call and we'll go to lunch"), but I never say things like that. Never even think them. Is it because I don't want to get close to people only to have to say BYE to them again (like what Bryn was saying all those years ago)??
