Going up some stairs with a mom dad and their daughter, who was griping and yelling and not wanting to do anything they said, and finally ran up ahead of them; the mom looked at me, and was all, "I'm sorry you've had to witness this..."

I was all, "no no no she's.. how old is she? .. eight??"

They nodded.

"That's her *job*.. to push the boundaries and see what she can do and what she can't and to drive you guys crazy in the process. *your* job is to set those boundaries with love, stick to them with love, and continue to love her no matter what she does."

Since when did I become the expert on child-parent relations?

Rode TJ Bike to Kellie's today in 45 minutes. Thought I might have gone too far at one point, but hadn't. Though the weather thing said 10 degrees C and 0% precipitation, I felt a few flakes of snow on the way there!

A couple of zoomie downhill runs, but nothing like the long ones near Odawara.

Kellie has made the most *amazing* set of cards for teaching animals and animal parts. I was living here at the time she started working on them, so it's really cool to see them finished, and they look so great!

We are watching Discovery Channel now, and I just scoped her port orientation for Tahiti. Incredible!! She's got such a fabulous head start on the voyage; great great great!

Fuck. It's sprinkling. And freezing cold. Argh. At least I brought my rain gear thing.

Made it back to Jesse's in 47 minutes, including bringing TJ Bike to the back balcony.

The rain wasn't so bad after all.

I was a bit late to Kellie's cause I started reading about google sitemaps after checking google analytics for my site that said people had searched for PB specifically on my domain. About 460 pages come up, all of which have been coverted, but googs hasn't done a deep search again. Apparently a sitemap can help google decide which pages need to be crawled again.

Not sure how/if it all works exactly, but I was in the process of downloading the python sitemap creator when I realized I had to leave imeejiately or I'd be late.

I started looking into it and found that I need a later version of python on my web server before I can run this python script. I contacted them and they said it was an old distribution and not being updated. But I could move my site to a new machine and have all the latest and greatest.

So, besides hanging out with Keiko, I've been working on that today. But now (soon) I'm going to bed.

I'm moving my domain to a new machine hosted by webquarry.com.

Outstanding issues:

1. * copy .* files over

2. * getting pgp keys to work with ssh

3. * making sure mon_journal works

4. * how to view .pl error logs

5. * research what happened during copy

6. * getting 401s, 403s, 404s, and 500s work at all

7. * testing / vs /~rob/ if possible

8. * getting 404 cgi to work for 404s

9. * making sure (!) works

10. * making sure comments work

11. * making sure rob_updater works
