I was back in my old school and forgot to dosomepreparation so I got a detention slip from noon to four pm, and I couldn't go on the origginal day (voyage), so I got it deferred to today (this voyage), but I had no idea if they would actually remember it. I looked in my filebox and was delighted to find it.

The guy supervising over the file boxes said the woman who got me into the original trouble was a really bitch, but on my form I had written, "I forgive the woman for this challenge," being way more accepting of her as a person who took out some thing on me that I didn't 'deserve'.

I wouldn't be able to serve the full four hours, though, because I had many PB meetings, so I was asking about that when I woke up.

Fantastic Rabbits

My first class was fantastic. A few minutes before class, I remembered the idea from my professora de espanol (no enye on this keyboard) that we all take on Spanish names, countries and professions. At that time I became Roberto, vagabundo de la playa en Costa Rica.

We became:
Rob, rabbit trainer from Texas
George, professional tennis player from Australia
Kelly, science teacher from Canada
Carol, flight attendant from San Francisco
Alice, pilot from England
Michelle, the president of New Zealand

I gave her high five when she said president.

We talked about a team name. They were like, "Francois" and "rabbit" and "fantastic"... they became Fantastic Rabbits.

I considered and then quickly rejected the idea of coming up with rabbit names for everyone.

We had several vocabulary words and came up with class agreements. I requested that they come to class and come to me first if they have problems. I introduced a combination of ideas from Derrick (from 51st) and Pat (49th) to create a Magic box where we will keep track of Japanese utterances, and good uses of English. There will be some sort of punishment for the one who speaks the most Japanese.

Class N wasn't as talkative as Fantastic Rabbits, and I had a couple fears they would be as quiet as Happy Wonderful Girls, but it appears there are just 3 shy girls and 3 talkative girls, but it's tipping toward shy overall.

I did the Advanced Open today with Joel, and it actually turned out quite well. I was super pleased and the other teachers who were watching thanked me. Lovely and great to have done a useful lesson for people.

Pool time was fun fun! Lots of people on top deck. I brought my camera with underwater case and shutter button that I just fixed with a thumbtack, but it's not fixed perfectly..
