Entries this day: Day Fighting_Goats Francis Rei Day 2:18pm SAST Saturday 28 January 2006 Today is a day off, but there are still plenty of meetings. Breakfast, then 11am to meet the guest speakers, lunch, 1pm to meet with other teachers about curriculum ideas that have worked well, right now work on curriculum for next term, meeting my Staff GET student at 3pm, then meeting Matt about Open Lesson curriculums, and then 5:30 for the Walvis Bay port orientation, and GET Meeting then dinner with Fighting Goats at 7pm and then for dessert, hang out with Rei in the evening. 6:18pm Curriculum planning went okay for my classes.. well, I got a basic start on them. The planning for Open lessons was even more effective. Matt led the meeting and we brainstormed ideas and I was like, "aight; you guys do these 6 and we will do these 6 and then the rest we'll do later," and that plan seems to have been adopted by everyone. Chowed with Maruan in Yacht Club - chopped eel stuff that was actually pretty bad with all the bones all over the place. Ah well; it was a snack. permalinkFighting Goats 8:18pm SAST Saturday 28 January 2006 Chowed more eel with Fighting Goats tonight at 7pm. They did well, chatting and stuff. Hitomi asked if we could hang out on Namibia day. I told her yes, for a few hours. How ironic. permalinkFrancis 6:29pm SAST Saturday 28 January 2006 Francois is my rabbit. Francis is a guest entertainer, and his first little meeting thing is at 6:30. I'll be a bit late, but I want to go visit because Rei is his CC. I bet she has eaten, but perhaps we can walk around top deck this evening. permalinkRei 12:31am SAST Sunday 29 January 2006 Hung out with Rei tonight: we ate down in Topaz (I just had the appetizer and dessert) and then went to Victor's presentation. He's a self-taught photo journalist who grew up within Apartheid. His story amazed us all, especially to see how warm and loving he is toward life and everyone now. He has a lot he could be bitter about, but instead he chooses to see how much he has, after having everything ripped away from him before. We went and walked around on top deck, looking at stars. permalinkprev day next day |
