Busy busy

3:31pm AZOT Tuesday 07 February 2006

The last couple days (couple?) seems like they've been really busy; I've hardly had a moment to write. Primarily, my free time has been given to studying Japanese, and the recent push to disassemble, clean, and assemble Hitomi's camera.

There are several things that I'd like to do before we arrive in Rio tomorrow, starting with setting my clock to the correct time after our timezone change last night.

2:33pm BRST Tuesday 07 February 2006

Things to do "today":

  1. * get my curriculums caught up

  2. plan a time to work on Opens curriculums

  3. *? write a Rob Update

  4. transcribe the Japanese diary that I've written over the past few days

  5. update my old journal entries to embed photos from the first month of the voyage

  6. * dump pictures onto my computer

  7. label pictures to be uploaded tomorrow in port

  8. * write an email to Hitomi

  9. * write emails to other people who have emailed me

  10. write postcards to CDF, perhaps with Akane's help in Japanese

  11. * Go to a lecture at 5:30, a movie at 6:30, dinner at 7:30, a performance thing starting at 8:30.

  12. laminate Fantastic Rabbits' gameboard that they made the day before yesterday and yesterday.

  13. * shave

  14. * charge camera batteries

Update on Hitomi's camera: it doesn't focus, and now the battery won't come out. I don't know what I did to cause that. Fuck; it's getting worse, and I don't really want to buy a new one.

dance time

1:31am BRST Wednesday 08 February 2006

Took a lot lot lot of pictures with Kellie's camera during the performance tonight. Luckily, I switched sides of the ship and got some good pictures of Rei during the beginning of the samba performance. If that rockin' marchin' music is samba, then I really like samba more than I ever thought before.

Big props to AfroReggae, the band featured in the movie we watched today. We're going to go see them live tomorrow!! wow wow wow!!

zzzz pre Rio

2:33am BRST Wednesday 08 February 2006

I'm falling asleep as I realize there's a mistake with pictures' names on my local computer. I am too tired to fix it now, but it basically means that I won't be able to embed more pictures in my journal than I have already until its fixed.

Thanks to the US shafting Brazilian tourists, we Americans have to be interviewed at 7:30am tomorrow, which means I have to be awake awake at 7am-ish. Dammit.

good night.
