"I've decided that I'm going to meditate each morning," I announced to my roommates, knowing that I should explain my planned change in behavior, "so if you see me with my head up in the ceiling, that's what I'm doing."

Carl goes, "if you see me levitating 1 inch above my bed...."

Hahaha "yeah, take my picture, but don't talk to me."

"Hey Rob!"

<whump> "yeah?"

"Uh, you were floating above your bed."

I basically spent all day studying with Akane up in Yacht Club. I definitely appreciate her generous donation of time to my Japanese goodness. Primarily, I wrote message on the six postcards that 仁美 made and sent in her awesome care package.

５２回も楽しんでいます。セイシェルでフランスワーとスクーバをした。その
ビーチで子ども３人新体操みたいなことをしていて写真を撮った。クルーズの

ます。時々囲碁をしてみています。理恵さんは４９回も５２回もGETの生徒で

I just transcribed these that Akane helped me write three days ago, and I don't remember the furigana for all the kanji, but I got most of it.

This is the day Akane accidentally spilled some tea on a cover of my flashcards. She apologized at first, but I quickly changed her mind. "Akane, I'm going to keep this card forever. This is a perfect reminder of this beautiful day. Here we are, floating outside Rapa Nui, without cares in the world, nothing to do but enjoy the beauty. This is an amazing day. Thank you for locking it into my brain for me." or something like that.

I barely snuck in to dinner in Topaz today; wrote Olena a positive comment card after she got me a meal. I ended up with three and 1/2 desserts, though 2 halves were shared by Matt and Karen.

Sat with Carla and Petra at the ending moments of mealtime. Petra was like, "are you interested in going to the dance?" and I was like, "kinda" or something like that, and we discussed what I meant by that. Basically, "until you mentioned it, I had no idea it was even scheduled; I still have no idea what it's supposed to be, and I don't particularly have plans to go. But, if I remember it once I finish my desserts, I may go."

"How good is your short term memory?" inquired Carla.

Eight young women and four limber men danced and sweated on stage. Plus the alpha male and female, then a band to jam the jams.

I joined them for all three songs that they invited audience participation. I have no pictures of me dancing, but I may be able to get one.

Hung out with Carla after the dance extravaganza thing. She bought me a drink in Sports Bar and we drank up on top deck. Told her about my meditation this morning. I'm really glad to be friends with Carla.

Chatted with Sabrina (and Effie) in reception for a bit; Sabrina will probably be onboard until September, or 2/3rds of the 54th voyage; hopefully I'll get to see her on that voyage and see her off the ship.
