I'm on route 394 now: I've broken free of 246 and chosen a smaller road. Standing outside a 7-11 after having some chicken and water. Using their electricity for my silly computer Gone In Sixty Seconds battery.

I was hoping to find a map to Alice's house, but I didn't keep it available. I had gone past where she said, anyway, so maybe I'll stop by on my way back to T-town.

Turns out that Naoko's house is in Shizuoka; I may say HI to her on the way through.

40km so far today, starting at 2:30am. Pretty cold, but good views of Mt Fuji, including the hole in one side as noted in Alice's speech. I'm in Mishima now, at the intersection of 22 and 246, 3km west of 三島駅, where りえ and parentals picked me up 2.75 years ago. I'm tired.

Naoko

Reached Naoko by phone (card) to tell her I probably can't make it to her house today. That makes two of us; she is in Osaka now. D'oh! I bought some granola from AOKI food store. It was the most energetic per yen that I found.

Shuji Kaori

Special thanks to Shuji and Kaori for being so helpful in getting me oriented after highway 1 split disorientingly. That was 10km ago; I've been rolling slowly since I'm exhausted. In a sports park in Shizuoka now on 407 between 1 and 74, and bypass. I'll be here all night unless someone kicks me out.

By rough count, 70km traveled so far today.

By careful count, 100km. Feels like a jillion.

Haven't slept yet; I left the park and quickly found an internet cafe open 24 hours and tried to negotiate cheap lodging there, but the guy told me about another cafe with actual showers and I was like, "hell yeah" and went out to find it, but couldn't. I'm at another McDonald's where I can use the electricity for the price of a vanilla shake. But no internet yet.

Saw some lodging by the river, あべかわ, but didn't join them. Gotta roll sooooooon and try to find my own housing.
