Entries this day: Dreams Morning Supa_windy Windy Zzzz Dreams 7am JST Saturday 08 April 2006 (day 13163) (transcribed 7:43am JST Sunday 09 April 2006 (day 13164)) With PB students I got in trouble for not showing up for Fantastic Rabbits, but it turned out that Angelina had fibbed, saying no one else showed up, so I just hung out with her. Upon leaving, I saw Rie (Carol (Monkey)) crying and walking home. "Why you didn't come?" she demanded, and I realized what must have happened. - - - - With college-aged peers, setting up this visual joke to make it look like a friend of ours had been hung. Sarah (Aussie in Jerusalem) was like, "no no he needs to be pasty," and spent hours coating him in paste - 4 distinct layers, then pulled it all off and Angelina Jolie was like, "how about my face?" cause she wanted to be called beautiful. They were hanging him up in a tree and the neighbors, like in a sit-com, were checking on their across-the-street neighbors by changing houses, so they would be able to see the visual joke setup, and either freak out and call the police or otherwise give it away to the people for whom it was intended. I couldn't ride back to say anything without giving it away, myself, so I let it be. permalinkMorning 7+am JST Saturday 08 April 2006 (day 13163) (transcribed 7:50am JST Sunday 09 April 2006 (day 13164)) Around 6am, there was a big boom that sounded exactly like the sunrise/sunset cannon we heard in Jerusalem during Ramadan. It woke me up, but I recognized the sound, so I wasn't too scared. Then I heard several more in the distance, from various directions, so I knew either (1) they were loud but harmless cannons for which nothing should be done, or (0) it was a huge attack on the city about which nothing could be done. They continued at various locations and intervals, and I had a dream snippet for a close one: a bomb was thrown near me and accidentally set part of my sleeping bag on fire. It's overcast and cold this morning. permalinkSupa windy 3:17pm JST Saturday 08 April 2006 (day 13163) (transcribed 7:57am JST Sunday 09 April 2006 (day 13164)) The wind has been brutal. Bikes unattended rarely upright. I've given up on this stupid ride so many times, but I don't want to admit defeat. I've considered hitching a ride in an empty back of a truck. I've considered taking a train. But, I'm still going, though not going strong. Finally found a grocery store on the side of the road (not 2 km off course). I had been getting pissed at the headwind and the number of GAME CENTERS, and hating all the apparent free time people have to throw away money when the world is going down the sewer and maybe we can't save a starving kid in Forgetia, but someone could give me a sandwich and then Hallo! Foods came into view. Beauty. Two packets of cereal (cheap granola bars) and 2 packets of Pocari Sweat mix (enough to make a liter each). permalinkWindy 5:30pm JST Saturday 08 April 2006 (day 13163) (transcribed 8:04am JST Sunday 09 April 2006 (day 13164)) At McDonald's for a shake and a shit. A few drops of rain, and still hella windy, but I hope the wind goes away after dark. 15km since 3:45pm = 15km / 1.75hrs. permalinkZzzz 9:35pm JST Saturday 08 April 2006 (day 13163) (transcribed 8:06am JST Sunday 09 April 2006 (day 13164)) ~120km traveled. Just a break now on the side of 23, near Suzuka on page 48, Mapple 5. permalinkprev day next day |
