Entries this day: Blueberry_dream!! Blueberry_jam Lazy_Day Oops Programmy Relaxed Blueberry dream!! 6:56am JST Monday 10 April 2006 (day 13165) Super-crazy dream this morning: Outside a clothing store, I was between a highway and the department store area, with a couple friends including Carissa from 49th voyage, and there was a terrific earthquake slash fresh blueberry storm, and everyone was basically blueberried (blueburied?) indoors, unable to get out. I wanted to see just how deep they were, so I began to dig in front of the store, uncovering some drawers that had come open during the earthquake, closing each of them as I was able, and digging down deep enough to get to the sidewalk pavement. I was basically standing in this hole (that maintained its shape, unlike blueberries or other balls would) and used a measuring tape I had conveniently uncovered (from one of the clothing store's drawers) and measured the depth of blueberries at 94 inches. This depth would put them well over my head, but in the dream it was up to my shoulders, basically. I announced the depth to Carissa and then went inside the clothing store to find Kris (49th voyage) and teased her, asking why she hadn't met me, knowing she couldn't possibly have gotten out during the storm. permalinkBlueberry jam 7:16am JST Monday 10 April 2006 (day 13165) Told Anne about my dream and when I said, "we were all trapped inside and no one could do anything.." she was like, "except make blueberry jam." I bet she can make jam as well as yogurt! permalinkLazy Day 2:03pm JST Monday 10 April 2006 (day 13165) Went with everyone (Koji, his wife, Tony (another guest), and Anne) to drop Anne off at the train station. Good luck to her and 30 hours of travel to get home almost before she leaves. Took a tour around the perimeter of this peninsula, including a couple of stops at overlooks, and a stop where I snarfed a few sample treats from each of the sweet-looking sample displays. Back at the house, I read 60 pages of Fellowship of The Ring, and note high quality writing when I read it. Chowed some lunch (rice and egg mix, plus hot water poured over de-seeded orange slices) while watching what happened to be on TV, motocross stunt biking stuff, my first time to see it. Amazing tricks they were doing. I'm glad no one wrecked. Now it's (brush teeth then) naptime; I want to stay bundled up because it's pretty cold today. permalinkOops 3:02pm JST Monday 10 April 2006 (day 13165) Instead of taking a nap, I read The GNU Project by Richard Stallman originally published in the book "Open Sources" <snip> Copyright (C) 1998 Richard Stallmanpermalink Programmy 3:08pm JST Monday 10 April 2006 (day 13165) I should probably study Japanese or meditate, but I'm in a nerdy programmy mood, like I want to write some cool software, but I'm not sure what I could realistically write in the amount of time this feeling will last. The smallest 'useful' project I've thought of recently would take a date and return a list of 500 day anniversaries (on my local computer), but even that doesn't seem useful anymore (it did while on PB and people kept asking me how old I was, I told them in days and then wanted to tell them how many days old they were, especially those coming up on 10000 days, for maximum coolness) Ah: I know: I can work on getting pictures ready to upload, which will include some tweaks to my iPhoto_2_legible.pl, a program for which I still haven't chosen a name I really like. permalinkRelaxed 10:55pm JST Monday 10 April 2006 (day 13165) Super relaxed after an onsen, suggested by Koji as an answer to my question "may I use the internet?" He said he would pay, so I was game; the internet can wait. I've now finished preparations for sleepin', but I'm going to write a little bit in/on the code I tweaked today. permalinkprev day next day |
