Entries this day: Dream Flubbed_schedule Marvin_Dangerfield,_DJ Phone Vilage_de_ingleis Website Dream 7:34am JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Back in Jerusalem, walking near where a road was being repaved against the Palestinian's wishes, over an area they considered sacred. I could feel the weight of stares on me as I walked through the affluent Israeli neighborhood and into the Palestinian neighborhood, with both sides wondering which side I was on. As I walked along, I realized I shoulda brought my camera; this even would be remembered for years and it would be nice to have pictures from when it happened. As I walked along the newly paved road, I looked up at the wall which was a chalk board from history class, with a writing assignmeent quickly scrawled, asking us to describe the historical background leading to this event and its likely affect toward the future. I wished I had been listening when the assignment had been written, as I wasn't quite able to make out all the words, but I had a general idea of what it was. I figured I was in a pretty good place, though; I was the only student in the class who had been present when the road was being repaved. permalinkFlubbed schedule 8:36am JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Damn; I just realized I liked missed an opportunity to see PB peeps in Yoyogi Park yesterday. Misato emailed everyone 4 days ago, and I never responded until just now. permalinkMarvin Dangerfield, DJ 12:47pm JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Heading out to InterFM, 76.1fm soon, where I hope to hang out with DJ Marvin Dangerfield on the air. I met him at Gaba and he said "c'mon over!" when I queried about his radio show. That was over a year ago, but ... I'm going to try it today. 1:56pm JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Killa! - - - - The setup here is well bigger than we had in KTRU at Rice. Three broadcast rooms, and CDs are in stacks in completely separate rooms. 3:09pm Chillin' in the broadcast booth with Marvin and the gang; just had a woman announce the news - wow she has a beautiful voice. (( this is my first time to ever hear Marvin's show, but I can write as if I know what's going on: )) The theme of the week has people emailing about the last time they cried, given that today's date in Japanese sorta sounds like [to cry] in Japanese. Most people have been citing movies. Marvin was telling me how they try to keep everything super-live; he doesn't pre-listen to the emails before his assistant Chisako (perhaps her name) reads them. Marvin's Japanese is probably better than my English; it's fun to hear him flipping between languages as needed depending on the topic and his audience. 4:06pm JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Definitely cool to reconnect with broadcasting, even if I basically can't understand but the gist of what they're talking about. Just had Fakie, special guests in the studio. I had never heard of them, but that's what a radio appearance should do: educate the audience. 5:17pm JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Cool beans ¤Ç¤·¤¿¡£ He had his hands full with people to entertain by the end of the show; half were guests, half were photographers, one was his fortune teller (?), and one was me. I didn't want to try and look comfortable in all their Japanese yammering and politeness, so I ducked out. I'll call him tomorrow to see about working in IT at GABA. permalinkPhone 1:23pm JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Hahah How hilarious that I forgot my phone. Actually I thought I hadn't, but in my pocket is my old (dead battery, no service) phone. permalinkVilage de ingleis 5:20pm JST Sunday 9 July 2006 I think the title is pretty misspelled, but it doesn't matter because the point is they haven't called me back. It's been... a week(?) wow. permalinkWebsite 5:23pm JST Sunday 9 July 2006 Back to Jesse's now to work on imagesadmin. On machine rob of thunderrabbit.com, I've nearly gotten to the point where I had it on robnugen.com. Soon I will be ready to switch the IPs. permalinkprev day next day |
