Catchin' mad Z's

9:20am JST Saturday 5 August 2006

Last night was the first night I slept with the window open; Jesse had had it blocked to keep out the noise and light. I 100% prefer the natural filtered lighting of earth's visual alarm clock when wondering about the time.

Anyway, I was a bit worried that I might not have enough sleep since I had only allocated 6.5 hours... but I woke up with no worries before my alarm alerted me of impending deadlines. In fact, woke up a few times with awesome dreams, all of which have flittered from my braincells, but.

I feel blessed to be lulled to sleep by noisy traffic.

EV Ikebukuro

11:40am JST Saturday 5 August 2006

Working at EV Ikebukuro today. First student was super smiley and nearly got contact information, but I resisted being so foolish. Next student was choosing between two books, and wisely chose the easier one.

Next student was supposed to be a level check, but she cancelled. Not sure if I will get paid for it or not, given that level check students don't pay. Hmmm.

As I'm writing this, Kelly is next door talking to a woman who likes to ride motorcycles.

Yummy lunch of noodles eaten while watching the hula performers watch each other to figure out what they will do tonight at the performance across the street from EV warmed me up.

I wonder if Kaoru plans to perform. Wonder if Kellie would have.

Met Miho, who had questions about ways to describe her job to people in English. Turns out it's internet related, so I had a good idea of what she was describing. Even broke out my laptop and keyboard to write up corrected versions.

Exporting pics

11:45am JST Saturday 5 August 2006

Hitomi emailed me last night to say she didn't remember how to export pictures. I zipped through the process and took screenshots, then used Automator to convert the resulting .pdfs into .jpgs.

Automator was basically easy to use, even without having read any docs.
