Entries this day: Dream Genki_Man_Dan Kichijoji TMI_CDs YouTube_sidetraction completely_sidetracked gateway_data Dream 4:36am JST Saturday 19 August 2006 In a group of people in a circle with Kevin and I on opposite sides, in a work situation ish, we were asked why we don't hang out more.. and we were like, "we hang out in I-group and on email, but" and then he finished, "but we don't know where the other lives, because then we would drop by all the time," and I finished, "but we basicaly don't have enough time to hang out [more than we do already]." It was an interesting realization, and pretty strange, I thought. I asked him if he was part of Mankind Project in the US, but he said no; if he had said yes, I was going to invite him to my I group. - - - - Doing some freestyle walking on rocks and stuff outside, I was trying to scamper up a little semi-slanted short verticle crook, like the guys in France, and I just happened to put my hand on a little forgotten wad of US currency. (wow!) and in an instant, I decided to keep it (given that I was outside, with no one else in sight to claim ownership) and put it in my wallet. Once I was inside, Isabel asked me if I knew where a high=end grocery store was located around here. I knew I had seen one, but couldn't remember where exactly. Then I got a phone call from my travel agent, basically asking if I wanted to arrange a shuttle from the airport once I arrived home. I had plenty of cash and didn't want to worry about such details once I arrived, so I was like, "yes." permalinkGenki Man Dan 9:45am JST Saturday 19 August 2006 I'm on Genki Man Dan's train line (Inokashira sen) all the way from Shibuya to Kichijyoji, so I'm thinking of writing him an email that would go something like this: Genki Man Dan the Genki Man, A.K.A. Genki Genki Genki Dan The Man Genki!!! Man! I'm on your train line (Inokashira sen) all the way from Shibuya to Kichijyoji, so I'm thinking of writing you an email that would go something like this: Mate! How's life UK style?? I hope you've found some hackey sackey kickey people in your area; Jesse recently moved out (to get married of all things!) so we can't really play anymore. HSJ seems to have gone awol, or perhaps he's just buried in one of my semi-unpacked suit cases that I'm using as a chest of drawers. I hope you got (and enjoyed) the train cards; I've been collecting more, and have a pretty good pile of them started. Perhaps 6 or 7 (*) already! I've checked through them all to make sure they're unique (among each other), but we really need to do a big train card sorting party (more like a festival!) to fully appreciate the breadth and depth of your collection! (*) 6 or 7 MILLION!! I do you have any plans to come back for a visit? Wouldn't be the same without Jenny J In Da House, but *I* sure would be happy to give you some floor space with a bed on it. You could stay in the swanky new apartment I'm in semi-near Shibuya! I'm the new roommate for a cat named Michael, though he prefers not to kick things so no HSJ, HSM, nor even HSJ for him. I tried HMSJHMHSMH, but he wasn't down. Aight, we are at the end of the line; I know if I don't finish this now, I'll get super distracted and never finish it then... Love Love Love - Rob!!!permalink Kichijoji 12:23pm JST Saturday 19 August 2006 Working in Kichijoji EV today. Right now the start of a huge 3.3 hour break, which I may use to work on getting some pictures ready for upload, and coordinates of my maps and shtuff. Ah fuck. I can't believe my idiocy of leaving my adapter at home when I knew there was a break during work today. Okay, cancel all the shit I just said about working for hours on end, but I can get a good start on pictures. permalinkTMI CDs 7:48pm JST Saturday 19 August 2006 Awesome! I have just received the TMI CDs that I had loaned to Hitomi before the 49th PB voyage.. so it's been a few days since I've listened to them! In an awesome synchronicity, I have just recently met a TMI traner, who gave me a suggestion for how to stay awake during the CD: "sit up." Pure genius. So, without much more ado, I shall go try it. permalinkYouTube sidetraction 12:09am JST Sunday 20 August 2006 Sidetracked over 4 hours, starting with restoring 3 DVDs from my old computer, looking for the templates that I used for my old Gateway Data entries (though they are actually on my site (just not as templates), so I could easily have gotten them that way), and then finding several movies I "always wanted" to upload, but never did, and now realize I should just throw them up on youtube and be done with it. So I have done just that with several vids, mostly roller coaster riding, and one of a guy playing didgeridoo and drums in Shibuya. Not drum-n-bass, but drum-n-didge. Nice. I'm considering recording ultimate frisbee tomorrow, given that I have the day off and I bet they will be playing down by Tamagawa. I think my shoulder is good enough to play. I just shouldn't take any tumbles. But if I do, my camera will be there to record it! permalinkcompletely sidetracked 12:09am JST Sunday 20 August 2006 Sidetracked over 4 hours, starting with restoring 3 DVDs from my old computer, looking for the templates that I used for my old Gateway Data entries (though they are actually on my site (just not as templates), so I could easily have gotten them that way), and then finding several movies I "always wanted" to upload, but never did, and now realize I should just throw them up on youtube and be done with it.
