Entries this day: ABC Gateway_data Japanese_Lesson Kaoru More_gateway_data Sayuri_lesson printable_version_of_journal ABC 5:22pm JST Wednesday 6 September 2006 (day 13314) I heard ABC is airing a show claiming to be based on the 9/11 Commission Report. However, distinctly unlike the report, it blames the Clinton Administration for Airplane Day. Clinton tried to pass anti-terrorism laws in 1996! Did the Republicans in congress allow that?? Trades were made that prove prior knowledge of the attacks! Did Clinton do that? NOW, I haven't seen the program. The claim in my first paragraph may not be accurate. But, if they blame Clinton in this show, please complain to ABC. permalinkGateway data CD/track Wave II / Threshold 5: Energy Bar Tool body position on back with knees bent CD player Panasonic SL-CT510 headphones Audio-Technica ATH-T3 ambient temperature 25 C clothing underwear and sleeping bag working nostril(s) right emotional state fine physical fine head fine stomach could eat pain/soreness none phone/door off/closed time allowed hours ambient light overcast ambient noise highway 246 through double pane window date/time 8:21am JST Wednesday 6 September 2006 (day 13314) location Sakurashinmachi apartment 8:57am JST Wednesday 6 September 2006 (day 13314) The Energy Bar Tool is surprisingly powerful. During the off and on flashes, I began to feel that I was actually beginning to vibrate, and to a degree I was able to focus on increasing the vibration instead of turning off and on the bar itself. This was my experience back over a year ago when I did this exercise. I could feel myself vibrating. I semi-fell asleep at the end of this exercise. Definitely want to do it again. permalinkJapanese Lesson 4:18pm JST Wednesday 6 September 2006 (day 13314) Today's Japanese lesson was better than it could have been. I found the teacher's style to be quite similar to mine, though at times I thought she was using more English than I want overall. Like explaining in English what I already understood, but I wanted to work on the Japanese. I may tell her next time. Actually more important for me is to have her not read (out loud) at the same time I'm practicing reading some text (out loud). But overall, quite awesome. We talked for 2 hours, and I've requested 2 hours per week with her. Cool that the first kanji of her last name 武川 is the same second kanji as my name in Japanese, 路武. permalinkKaoru 1:29pm JST Wednesday 6 September 2006 (day 13314) Lesson with Kaoru was pretty relaxed today after we chatted online and she "accused" me of acting Japanese (polite), so I busted out with some shit like damn dawg why da hell you don' say you ain't talkin' no Japanese style an shit? She was like, "that's better." AND, she assured me she didn't mind printing stuff for me, so I asked her this morning if she would print some goodies for my Japanese lesson, which she did. I noted I could use the printouts more effectively for studying if the Japanese was double-spaced, so I plan to add some code to my site to allow this. (just a quick stylesheet change) Oh, plus not printing all the google ad stuff. Perhaps I'll make it "print version" and take out the ads. If the journal type=nihongo, I will double space it. Sounds good. permalinkMore gateway data CD/track Wave II / Threshold 3: One Month Patterning body position on back with knees bent CD player Panasonic SL-CT510 headphones Audio-Technica ATH-T3 ambient temperature 25 C clothing underwear working nostril(s) right emotional state fine physical fine head fine stomach happy pain/soreness none phone/door off/closed time allowed all night ambient light screen saver ambient noise highway 246 date/time 5:36pm JST Wednesday 6 September 2006 (day 13314) location Sakurashinmachi apartment 6:13pm JST Zzzzzz permalinkSayuri lesson 9:20pm JST Wednesday 6 September 2006 (day 13314) Sayuri requested a 2 hour lesson today (usually we do 3) because she needed to take a movie back to the rental shop. It's a romance set in a cross country train where two people meet and fall in love etc. We chatted at Starbucks over cheesecake, scone, and tasty beverages (ice coffee-ish for her, and vanilla frapucino (sp) for me.) She talked a lot about chatting with peeps while at work, and how she is better able to chat on computer than speak face to face. I suggested perhaps she is a visual learner, so the text is easier for her brain to process. Same as me and Japanese. permalinkprintable version of journal 1:01am JST Thursday 7 September 2006 (day 13315) Perfect. Got my printable version code working by adding a few hacks to my journal code. It's becoming apparent that I need to revamp my entire journal code before I can do too much more to it. It's poorly written without even using the CGI.pm to output HTML. Not likely to change it until after I've done my picture viewer, and I haven't made any motions toward getting back to that any time soon. It will be after my map project is done.. that is nearing completion. Anyway, in the upper right corner is now "printable version" which simply displays the page without the left hand sidebar. (only in journal.pl, not journal.cgi; sorry Jon) But that's not all. If the journal type is nihongo, the text is spaced at 300% to facilitate writing notes and corrections. permalinkprev day next day |
