Entries this day: Dream_1_eminem Dream_2_forgotten Kichijoji ktsc_miki,et.al. Dream 1 eminem 3:53am JST Saturday 9 September 2006 (day 13317) Rap Battling against Eminem and I won I forgot his ine, but my return was "you'll never be better" which, as we were discussing after the battle, he said really hurt his feelings. permalinkDream 2 forgotten 7:58am JST Saturday 9 September 2006 (day 13317) Can't remember.. permalinkKichijoji 9:32am JST Saturday 9 September 2006 (day 13317) Working at Kichijoji today; I'm well on time this week as opposed to last week, though I still haven't really eaten enough this morning. Up late talking last night. Today after work I'm going to KG Miki's school for a party thing, and Madoka has asked if I would be willing to lead a game or activity for 30 minutes. (!!) I snagged my "New Games Book" and... yeah I can do a game or activity, though I don't know if it will last 30 minutes. Perhaps 10, 15, 60 minutes....??? 11:28am JST Wow. Just had a new student named °Ñ»Ò who was super super super genki and really worked hard to learn, etc. And she just smiled and smiled during the lesson with the joy of learning. So great. Really look forward to working with her again. 5:57pm JST Just finished. Last student was new, and quite fluent. She's level 3 at NOVA and using up the remainder of her points before she makes a full transition to EV. She agreed with me that NOVA only cares about money, and not about teaching students. I talked way too much during the lesson, but she didn't seem to mind. I hope that's the case, at least. - - - - Second to last student was a cat who works for Honda's marketing company, which, as I understood from his description is basically a Honda spin-off company so that its workers would not have the protection of the union that Honda manufacturing workers have. Wow. - - - - Also chatted with Yuria today; she asked me to help her compose two letters: one thank you for a referral, and one welcome to the referral. - - - - Had the married couple each in their own lesson again today. He asked some quite specific questions about advertising on trains in the US. I first had to clarify that there basically are no trains in the US. At the end of our lesson, she and I talked about ways of augmenting my days old counting scheme by using base 2 or base 16. Basically base 16 makes slightly more interesting words, but they are too big before they get very interesting. permalinkktsc miki,et.al. 10:57pm JST Saturday 9 September 2006 (day 13317) Went to KTSC to see KG Miki tonight, and also attend the party being thrown by the school for their students. I was asked to open the party with a "speech" and toast, which I did readily and a teeeensy bit nervously after some faux hemming and hawing (*). (*) I hope this is the first and last time this phrase appears in my journal. I primarily enjoyed chowing free food and chatting with Nelly, a woman from northern France who was the "MC" of the party (just for the beginning) and when she left, I shifted over to Kaori, a Columbian/Japanese woman from the mountainous region of Columbia where her family speaks Spain-style Spanish though the rest of the country speaks Columbian Spanish. She *almost* went on PB, but didn't, because one of her friends said she had gotten into debt during a voyage. I explained in no uncertain terms Kaori must apply again. Kaori left, then Miki and I left, but beat Kaori out the door because she apparently got stuck talking to someone. I gave a quick cheek hug with Naomi (tall and beautiful) though I didn't get to talk to her tonight. Train home with Miki as far as my station. Woulda given her a kiss on the cheek, but I think she doesn't feel that way about me. Oh Miki. permalinkprev day next day |
