Entries this day: Easy_schedule Inokashira_line Kichijoji Easy schedule 11:36am JST Saturday 21 October 2006 (day 13359) Yesterday when Michiko faxed my schedule for today, I was surprised to find I start at noon, instead of 10am. Wow. This must be partially because Tracy and Jamie are both back in town; I'm no longer covering their students. This morning just as I was leaving, Michiko called me, and I was thinking shit! did I get it wrong?? as she was politely identifying herself, asking how my day was going, etc, and *then* explaining the purpose of her call: my first student had cancelled; I don't have to work until 1pm. Ah. Okay; fair enough reason for not jumping straight to the point. - - - - I'd rather work in Shibuya where I can make more money, but there are no rooms available in the school on Saturday. permalinkInokashira line 11:43am JST Saturday 21 October 2006 (day 13359) For some reason, I was think Hachijoji instead of Kichijoji as I looked online for the time it would take to go from Shinjuku to Kichijoji. When several variants of Hachijoji wouldn't work, I entered "Inokashira Line" in google and was surprised to find the first result was Wikipedia's entry on Keio Inokashira Line. Wow! I checked my favorite line, Tokyu Toyoko, and found the entry a bit incomplete. Cool! 時間あたら, I can add some about Motosumiyoshi Station! Distinctly missing is recent news: the raising of Motosumiyoshi Station over Bremen Street! It would also be cool to have pictures of the stations.. especially the bigger ones and the ones that will be changing "soon." permalinkKichijoji 6:29pm JST Saturday 21 October 2006 (day 13359) Kichijoji was pretty cool today; good in the break department, during which I chatted with Tracy about some concerns she had. I'm glad I was wise enough to ask more questions before I started making assumptions about the situation, even as basic as would you like to me just listen or give advice; she requested option C: what do you think about it? I basically finished The Google Story, hardback featuring tidbits on how they started and meteoric rise and and and good stuff. I should buy some stock. Last student of the day was cool, especially once we were able to chat about the US government.. He's interested in martial arts, and was like, "what would you do if you were attacked in the street?" I'm like, "I don't get attacked in the street. If I did, I would ... play it by ear." He was surprised at this, given that I lived in US, which is "so dangerous," and I assured him it's *not* all that dangerous, and not everyone has a gun... "the most dangerous thing in the US is the US government." He was like, "why do you think the US government is dangerous?" good question. permalinkprev day next day |
