Entries this day: Dream Flash Work marble_track training_Stephen Dream 7:31am JST Tuesday 19 December 2006 (day 13418) hospital bed with a guy in it pretending to be killed as a laser plasma ray is hot at him, but the ray doesn't work, so he lives, and then a bad guy tells his henchman to start hitting the gu with teeeth, which will simulate eating him, and he has to be hit with teeth unti he is eaten and dies, so finally the good guy is like, "this is terrible" and pulls the plug, cryingly on his friend and says, "alright, I don't have to watch this show anymore." I was writing to CDs two CDs worth of data, but there was no CD writer, and the platter was out in the rain, so I ran out to get them out of the rain. This was after I had been in Carla's classroom, flrting with her like patting chalk marks over her back and butt. She was like, "What are you doing?" and then, "this school is not as nice as my house, but I like the people." I was quite surprised, given that my house looks about the same as the school. permalinkFlash 1:11pm JST Tuesday 19 December 2006 (day 13418) Trying to figure out what fl.getDocumentDOM() does without testing it has caused me a bit of wasted time, but I'm hoping that I will be able to grok it and use it to get some cool effects. I want to grab a couple of the text fields on the screen and make tweens with them. But they are user-entered text, so I have to do it all pragmatically. I was trying to use breakApart, which I've learned is required before doing shape tweens with symbols (I think it should be called flatten, but) I don't see how to use breakApart on individual items. The documentation talks about getDocumentDOM() returns the currently selected document. WTF is a document besides the whole movie. Are they calling an individual symbol a document? Why not call it a "symbol" or something with a bit smaller conotation. And if they do in fact mean the whole document, er screen, then htf am I supposed to select an individual symbol? permalinkWork 3:25pm JST Tuesday 19 December 2006 (day 13418) On the way out for food during my break, Makiko who had just taken my lesson rode down the elevator with me. She was like, "I chose your lesson again to help you pay for your shoulder." awwwwwww!! I offered to show her the X-rays next time. Need to remember to bring them in. 3:42pm JST Tuesday 19 December 2006 (day 13418) I recognized the voice of my student Yukiko, who showed up late for her lesson. Almost 24 hours late, or on time, had the lesson been today instead of yesterday. I was on break, so headed out to give her a side hug of empathy. I haven't verified, but I hope she signed up for my lesson later this week or so. permalinkmarble track 5:17pm JST Tuesday 19 December 2006 (day 13418) Nice. Ono spent an hour with me, mostly playing with Marble Track II. He suggested a valley, and I was like, "those are too hard to make," and then promptly warped the remaining tongue depressor into a shape that looks like it will work perfectly. In the last five minutes of our lesson, I ran and got one side of the tongue depressor wet, and then we warped it and used the space heater to dry it, and it's going to be perfect. permalinktraining Stephen 11:41pm JST Tuesday 19 December 2006 (day 13418) Just helping Stephen get oriented on the train system. He's trying to get to Roppongi tomorrow and find a certain building. Getting to Roppongi is easy enough, with just one train switch, but finding the building will be a bit more of a trick; I encouraged him to ask a koban. Interesting to recall being so lost on the trains. Not knowing the difference between north and south in Harajuku when I was headed to Shibuya. Now which one is Shibuya? Or is it Shinjuku? Shinagawa? permalinkprev day next day |
