Entries this day: Flash Minatomirai Motosumiyoshi Tariq for_Jen.txt mashup_youtube_messaging Flash 9:16am JST Thursday 4 January 2007 (day 13434) Got it! It was a scope problem. Flash creates variables when they are given values; for some reason an object referring to variables on the root timeline created its own copy of *one* of the variable names, but not of any of the others. I added _root. to all of them to cut that noise out real quick. This game (repeat_click) is super hard. I have gotten as far as level 9, but usually only make it to like level 3. permalinkMinatomirai 1:27pm JST Thursday 4 January 2007 (day 13434) I'm on the Ltd Express train of my old train line (Tokyu Toyoko) in Shibuya, ready to head to Minatomirai to meet Tariq. I think he said Mintaomirai, and not Motomachichukagai. Big difference, those two. permalinkMotosumiyoshi 3:40pm JST Thursday 4 January 2007 (day 13434) I wonder if anyone has updated Motosumiyoshi on wikipedia. It features a new station which I plan to visit now. permalinkTariq 3:42pm JST Thursday 4 January 2007 (day 13434) Meeting with Tariq featured a cameo appearance by Dan from PB 52!! I heard his voice saying "Rob!" and I immediately knew who was speaking. Dan!! Practically before I even identified him visually. He was hanging with his friend Natalia from Kamakura; we didn't talk long, but definitely a riot to see him! The meeting also featured lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, so it was half hard to rock through all the games we've put together. I gave him copies of the stuff I've done, and he gave me screwdrivers to try and take apart my camera (and fix it). And he bought me lunch. - - - - There's a game that I thought of that could be a pretty good one, but I can't think of it now. It was a pretty old idea that I'm sure therefore could not be copyrighted. Like an old word game.. Not a crossword, but a puzzle of sorts, かな。。 3:54pm JST あっ! "who lives in the green house?" One of those games that has various clues... I wonder if I could put together an engine that will generate a game with some carefully designed variables to make a different game each time, and one with only one correct solution. permalinkfor Jen.txt 4:56pm JST Thursday 4 January 2007 (day 13434) Jen!! My first one was to my brother, though he seems not to have seen it yet. I don't think he's been online since I uploaded it. Aiko saw it, and I sorta made one for her. Then one for Jesse. Maybe later I'll link them from here. But they're all on youtube and my username there is thunderrabbit. 9:22am JST Friday 5 January 2007 (day 13435) update: they're linked. permalink |
