Entries this day: Flash Marble_track Something Train_cards Flash 4:16pm JST Friday 19 January 2007 (day 13449) Looking at Michael's game; I've got to add to it, but I can't figure out what he was trying to do unless he was planning to add a jillion new mini MovieClips to the movie; I'm definitely not going to extend it that way. He won't be in town to work on it until mid February; I'm basically thinking of doing the whole thing over, though using a few key built-in functions that he's using. I'm got 45 more minutes left in this break; I've just got a flash of an idea on how to flowchart this thing. permalinkMarble track 4:20pm JST Friday 19 January 2007 (day 13449) Yesterday I finished the little swerve for the small marbles right around the top of the switch. The track is super crammed in. Today I have tweaked two places where the small balls were getting stuck; they have no chance of getting stuck in those spots anymore. Further plans include a full-side-span track from the toothpick pair that leads into the Ami-inspired big-marble zig-zags and then sneaking up through the ice-cream-spoon "2" that was installed on the 15th. permalinkSomething 12:25am JST Saturday 20 January 2007 (day 13450) I was going to write about something this morning, and I thought of it again this evening, but now as I'm finally like, "oh yeah, I needed to write something," I can't think of it. Oh! permalinkTrain cards 12:26am JST Saturday 20 January 2007 (day 13450) When Dan lived in Tokyo, he collected train cards. I helped his endeavor, and enjoyed his reactions when we would go through a pile of cards, especially on the day he was making up myriad games with just cards, and also the day I gave him a card with a picture of him on it. Awesome. I still collect cards. Kellie has a huge collection, and plans to make a mosaic with them. Randomly today, I discovered that one of the cards I collected had 70 yen remaining! Now these are cards that have been discarded (no pun intended) by other passengers, and I often grab the discarded cards when I walk through the station. I put the uniqe cards in a pile for Dan, and the non-unique cards in a much bigger pile for Kellie. Oh, so anyway, I found one card with 70 yen remaining! Wow! I spent about an hour looking through all the rest and came up with 1140 yen worth of train rides on about 20 cards. Basically (rough estimates), more than 1% of the discarded cards have money on them, and it probably averages to 40 yen per card. I plan to use some of the cards tomorrow on my way to Kichijoji (total cost 380 yen for round trip), so before I use-em up, I'll jot down the actual amounts: 10 yen 10 yen 10 yen 10 yen 20 yen 30 yen 30 yen 30 yen 40 yen 40 yen 50 yen 50 yen 50 yen 60 yen 70 yen 70 yen 80 yen 100 yen 380 yen Wow! I found 19 cards with an average of 60 yen per card! permalink |
