Flash goodness

11:46am JST Wednesday 18 April 2007 (day 13538)

Some success with flash; I figured out the problem that had vexed me for a day. Basically a button cannot be made up of other buttons. I can certainly understand this. I didn't think about was that creating a new symbol out of buttons would keep those buttons intact inside the symbol. I had to "break apart" those symbols inside the button for the new button to work.

I continued past that point for a bit until I'm at another difficult part.. I'm going to have to undo a lot of work, but first I should get some input from T and H about the best way to do the new work, plus I want to show them how much work I've done.

But, we don't have a meeting scheduled; I don't have internet access; it's cold, and I want to sleep.

I was going to wank myself to sleep with some porn, but decided to do a Gateway voyage thing instead.

12:32pm JST Wednesday 18 April 2007 (day 13538)

I stayed awake for more of that than the last time. There were two new parts of the exercise that I hadn't noticed before when I did it a few days ago. I was in a sorta dream state while he was explaining those parts of floating and moving backwards. I sorta think I have a different feeling between Focus 10 and Focus 12, but not realy sure what it will be like for me.

I saw Tariq in one of my dream states, and I was going to show him something, and then I was like, wait-a-minute, and I sent him away so I could finish the exercise at hand.

Headed to work

2:37pm JST Wednesday 18 April 2007 (day 13538)

Headed to work now; I intend to pick up my new hanko along the way, though I will arrive somewhat before 3pm. Not too much, though.

There's a new bit of construction happening regarding some doors to a maintenance area near where I normally board the train.

That remizzles me; I've got several albums worth of pics on this machine that I need to get uploaded! The tedious part is naming all the pics, but the trickiest part is that of matching up the directory structure and the navigation structure for the albums. My images project should take care of that, but it's been on ice for a while.

I also want to get my TJ Bike adventure mapped out the rest of the way. It will only get foggier the longer I wait to do it かăȘ。

Marble Track 2

11:04pm JST Wednesday 18 April 2007 (day 13538)

Great progress on Marble Track II today. I added the first 1/2 pi circumfrence of the circular thing I made for the big marbles. In fact, I added the next section to four separate tracks (not the big marble track right above the switch that had been vexing me (but I think I've got it whipped)).

I figured out how to handle the two small tracks that were crunched up right in the corner; I brought one back across the aforementioned spiral section with what basically looks like an _____ (*) of the big spiral, and then added four pieces to the top of that piece such that they spiral inside the spiral, but the opposite direction, and they act as the inner wall for that section of the outer spiral.

(*) I forgot the term for a straight line that touches two points on a circle.

Plus I added two levels to the back-n-forth toothpick "tower" which now has 6 levels. I think I'll keep adding to it, though it definitely needs some support.

Basically I'm really happy with the progress..

After work, I showed Marble Track 2 to Reiko (receptionist), and she seemed to enjoy watching the balls flutter down. Especially the small ones. Especially the pink ones, though they are actually a bit too small to work properly on several of the elements.

Work

10:05pm JST Wednesday 18 April 2007 (day 13538)

Today work started with Asakaze, the 9 year old. He's 9, so he prefers to draw than read; I try to enforce a balance of activities. Today I solved a maze he made, and I made a maze that he solved, and we read about Central America, including the Panama Canal. I've been making him memorize continents and country names.

He can now pretty much do the continents, Japan, China, US, Australia, Russia, Great Barrier Reef, and now, perhaps, Panama (Canal).

Then a guy who could not keep me awake,

And then my beloved Yurika, who studies her ass off, doing near-perfect homework, including memorizing the stories and her answers. She likes/needs to work on listening, so I read small sections or tell stories, sometimes at higher than normal speed, and quiz her on it.

Someone else, I forgot, and then Tomomi, who brings selections of emails from her work, where she's in constant contact with a US supplier for some type of chemistry supply wareshouse, talking about cylinders, frits, and chemicals with names like Polyethylpropyline and Tetrahydrasulphate in various molarities, etc.

Then someone else, and then Ami, with whom I often enjoy relaxed lessons that are about 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 English, mostly catching up on a bit of gossip, personifying Francois, and me trying to keep from ogling her breasts.
