Entries this day: GET_challenge Train_back kazzah GET challenge 3:24pm JST Sunday 13 May 2007 (day 13563) So so so so so glad I came on the GET Challenge here in Saitama.
I totally want to come back! Then lunch, which was quite filling, sitting between Shin and Keiko (Crazy Monkeys' fearless leader), across from Yuske, and Gachapin (certainly not his real name). Came to a sake brewery which was superficially interesting, but basically I'm too tired to really care. Didn't even ask a question on my brain about the construction of a building (pretty much because the answer was apparent (but not 100% certain)).
8:02pm JST Not much after that; we went to an old tomb made like 400 years ago, and looked about like a pine knoll with a dugout on the top and a gate over the entrance. Had I had Francois (or known anything about the hole), I would have taken a picture, but. Headed back with Keiko making funny cute noises as we all played a game of naming words that start with the last letter of the previous word. I used Japanese words, and then the next word was based on the English translation of my word. Back to th starting point for おつかれs and picture and email exchange and by to my Crazy Monkeys team. The teachers did a quick review of the day's pros and cons, and all agreed that Sachie is the supa best GET Challenge Coordinator --**EVER!!**--, and that the day was quite lovely. I definitely want to go back soon. permalinkTrain back 8:08pm JST Sunday 13 May 2007 (day 13563) Nice cuddling with Natalie on the way back. Snnnoozzzzzzzzzz At some station, said bye to Pat, who had been chatting with Kazzah. I wish him well now and in the future. permalinkkazzah 8:09pm JST Sunday 13 May 2007 (day 13563) Went with Kazzah to Bic Camera for headphones so she can skype. She spent a pretty decent time finding the perfect headphones (of which there were many). The number of headphones that said "SKYPE CERTIFIED" was hilarious to me. We were like, "holy shit! These headphones [say they] will work with Yahoo Chat, Yahoo Messenger, MSN messenger, AIM, and Skype!" "AND Windows Vista! OH MY GOD!!!" I spent about 2 minutes wandering, lured by the colorful LAN cables and found a flat cable that I decided I needed to run from the router into my room. Unfortunately, the 7 meter cable that I got was about 1 meter too short. Kazzah is doing well; much better since a year ago when she was mired in grad school and moving and breaking up. Eeek. And she's going to be on 58(?)th voyage of PB, so that's pretty great. She's rooming with Rose, who will be Guest Care Coordinator for the next voyage or maybe the 58th. Good kids, both of them. permalink |
