Entries this day: Cadaver_Calculator Chat_API Galaxy_Zoo Lawson_peeps Marble_track_2 Work fun_with_Ami restore Cadaver Calculator $4375.00 permalinkChat API 12:53pm JST Friday 13 July 2007 (day 13624) This chat stuff is pretty far over my head. Not sure if we'll need to bring in some other cat to hook it up or what. From lingr API tutorial: This call blocks until some event occurs in the chatroom, or until the maximum observation wait time passes. Because this call blocks, we probably want to spin off a separate thread to do our observation, but the details are up to you. Also, because the call might block as long as the maximum observation wait time, it's important to set your socket timeouts accordingly, so that your client doesn't close the socket prematurely. Uh, yeah... I basically know what sockets are, but... let's just say I know about as much about them as Francois does. permalinkGalaxy Zoo 12:46pm JST Friday 13 July 2007 (day 13624) I categorized tens of galaxies on Galaxy Zoo after reading about it this morning. permalinkLawson peeps 1:15pm JST Friday 13 July 2007 (day 13624)
Marble track 2 4:02pm JST Friday 13 July 2007 (day 13624) Got Marble Track 2 home safely. Now just gotta pack it up and ship it to Maggie. Should I put insurance on it for $6000? But first, back to work. permalinkWork 10:15pm JST Friday 13 July 2007 (day 13624) Work was basically agonizing today. Not just because I was winding down my final hours, but because I was winding down my final hours with many students I had never met before, and many students who hadn't prepared anything before class.
コラ! permalinkfun with Ami 1:13am JST Saturday 14 July 2007 (day 13625) Met Ami, Yoko, and Naoko at Satoshi's bar (aka the bar with no name) for an orange juice and several minutes of listening to them yammer in Japanese. Dropped of Yoko into a taxi on 246, then Naoko at Yamanote Line, and then I played with Ami a bit by not leaving her, even though I pretended to. First I went down the stairs to my platform, but then ran up the escalator, much to her entertainment. I pretended to do it again, but she was watching, so I wondered for a bit how to go one step better. I ran to the other exit of my train line, and up to her line and waited for her to get there. I snuck up behind her and was like, "わっ。" when I got close. She was happily shocked and entertained. Then when she went through the ticket gates to the Toyoko Line, I waited for her to get to the train, and then came through the gates to give her some more kisses at the actual train. Then, as the train was about to leave, I walked away, but then got onto the train at each door I passed, but each time she was smilingly watching for any such Antics. Then I called her as I was exiting through the ticket office, pretending to not know where my correct line was. Fun times; fun times. permalinkrestore 1:23am JST Saturday 14 July 2007 (day 13625) Restoring the photos from iPhoto that I backed up on Amazon S3. About 24 hours remain to get 3.3 Gigs. I hope that's just a miscalculation because it's getting a bunch of small files now. Gotta go to bed and then last day of work tomorrow before my new apartment and new job... permalinkprev day next day |
