Entries this day: Dream Eating_breakfast_with_Ma Equally_early Francois_new_threads Jet_skizzle Talking_to_Jackie What_I_missed shower Dream 7:15am CDT Wednesday 25 July 2007 (day 13637) Fred was here, and pretty surprised to find me here, though not as surprised as I wanted him to be. I was really happy to see him, and so was everyone else. permalinkEating breakfast with Ma 7:18am CDT Wednesday 25 July 2007 (day 13637) Headed out to the lodge in a second to eat breakfast with Ma. Today I think I'll take a shower and switch shirts to my 1996 San Antonio Rally shirt. It's of such high quality that it's close to new. permalinkEqually early 10:32am CDT Wednesday 25 July 2007 (day 13637) Yesterday I looked down and found the time had progressed to 10:15am, which would make me 30 minutes late for an hour movie presented by Craig Roshaven in his workshop. This morning I told my mom, and she was like, "the AM workshops start at 10:45.." Ah! So I wasn't late after all. Just silly and *thought* I was late, though my angels had alerted me to the time in time for me to arrive. Today I maintained more consious awareness of the passage of side time, and when the progession reached 10:15, I said ちゅちゅバイバイ to Ami and headed to the workshop location. I am here now, and appear to be the first one present. I'm not sure about making a makeup to Craig, but I will ask him if I can scope the DVD that he had planned to show us yesterday. 12:08pm CDT Talked to Craig a bit about my fear of settling down.. The group was talking about consumerism and how we're all deluged with ads telling us to buy buy buy. I've been intentionally *not* buying things and *not* being tied down to anything, galavanting around the world on a shoestring budget, insurance free, etc. Just me an' my rabbit. He was like, "well, it may happen sooner or later; you'll find a place. But that you're thinking about it means it may be in the process of happening.." permalinkFrancois new threads 2:07pm CDT Wednesday 25 July 2007 (day 13637) Walked to the main cabin to find Jason and find food. Then to my cabin to find contacts for jet-skiing purposes. Padre Donut said Tori is going to come kidnap some of us with jet skis. Wes, Cassie and Chris were on the couchbed, and I tossed Francois into the mix. We did a few Francois-based jokes, and I left him with them while I contacted my eyes. Upon return I was asked by Cassie, "can we make a shirt for Francois?" "Francois would be honored to have a new shirt," I assured her. One sock and a pair of scissors later, Francois has a new top and new underwear. (his first pair!) permalinkJet skizzle 7:07pm CDT Wednesday 25 July 2007 (day 13637) Really big huge fun on the jet ski, including a couple of firsts:
Really happy for the chance to ride on the jet ski on the trailer being pulled behind the car to the boat ramp. Someone had started me on Borat impersonations; I was repeatedly like, "very nice!" in that おかしい way that he says it. Tori kept turning back to check my status; I gave thumbs up each time. I rode behind Tori as Phat Pat/ty Digital rode behind me to the spot. For fun, Pat and I hid on the opposite side of the cove while Tori went back to get more people. Then I rode behind Pat for a while as we jet skidded a bit. Switched over to me, and I immediately did some crazy move that threw him from the jet ski. After some zooming, I got the hang of it, and was doing a wide semi-hydroplaning curve, just barely letting off as we lost traction. I was like, "aight; I got this," and then just whoomp! and we both went *flying* and splashing laughing. "This is so great because we can't get hurt!" (*) (*) yes, we can get hurt, but compared to concrete, we can't get hurt. - - - - Then huge huge great fun as Cherie drove me on the jet ski. She was whippin' it around like zoom rar zoom rarararar zoom bbbbbararrr zooom etc etc and I was laughing laughing loving it!! Just wanted to merge and melt into the moment of happy zoomy spirally zooming forever. At one point early on, I was like, "this is great! You can try to throw me off, but I'm not going!" During our adventure, she finally did throw me off and didn't notice for about 35 seconds or so of more wild spins. She came back and we made a new rule of holding on to the life jacket instead of onto the back handle. During our subsequent runs, she threw me off again but I was gripped on and wrenched her off. Then I got to drive, and threw us both off twice, including right near the group as we were coming back. So so so sosososo much fun!!! - - - - After that it wasn't so fun, but still mildly entertaining. I got hit on harder than probably ever before in my life after someone had been like, "okay, if you (gender) take of your shirts, we'll take off our shirts." The offer was accepted and we were all topless, except I kept my shoulders covered (because I didn't want them to get way way way more burned), so I took my bottoms off for good measure. I wasn't aroused whatsoever during the major effort to get a reaction from me, so I maintained a sharp border between acceptable and not. - - - - The group got progressively drunker and drunker, except for Phat Pat, who had had his beers and then just floated chillfully in the water. And me who didn't drink any. I was basically ready to go back at any time, especially because pizza was available (for a limited time) back at the main camp. I wanted to stay with the group a bit, though; my camera was back in Padre's car. There was talk of a retreat, so I was quick to head back. First I rode behind Mary behind Matt Boy and dropped them off at the group camp. Then I drove zoomingly back and wait-wait-waited while Tori explained to Cherie that the latter couldn't drive, and the former used every proverbial carrot she could imagine to get Cherie to relinquish her jet ski key and life jacket... and then while Tori coaxed Adrien out of her slumber to ride back with me and Phat Pat and oh shit where are Padre's keys??? It was guessed they must be in the white bag taken back by Matt Boy, so I drove a very sloshy Adrien on the even sloshier jet ski that seemed so close to dumping over that I could barely get it going to upright and flat with decent speed. Finally got back, found Matt who found the car keys, gave them back to Phat Pat, and then headed up and ran to Jackie, who was soberly sitting on a cooler talking on her cellie. permalinkTalking to Jackie 1:30am CDT Thursday 26 July 2007 (day 13638) "I greeted you so warmly because I'm so happy to find a non-drunk person." Jackie told me about the craziness that's being forced upon the YRUUers. So much of their staffing opportunities are being ripped from their grip. We walked to the main camp pavillion and she told me the story she knew about Chesleigh. 6 foot tall wall (on top of 30 story building) very short running room, but very far landing from the building.. "She must have had a running start." "well, that is her style..." I told her about Kevin, the soul-retrival workshop leader in my i-group, and about the movie Zeitgeist and the DVD of that guy being interviewed about aliens contacting him. Pretty crazy, but fantastically great. Jackie is great. permalinkWhat I missed 1:12am CDT Thursday 26 July 2007 (day 13638) "Rob, you missed everything tonight, and I wish I had missed it all, too." "What happened?" inquired I. "Somehow her car keys got lost when we were moving stuff from the boat, and she was so beligerantly yelling at various campers to give back her keys, that three people called the cops and she got arrested." "Oh, snap." permalinkshower 1:30am CDT Thursday 26 July 2007 (day 13638) I took a shower tonight, my first one at SWUUSI 2007. permalinkprev day next day |
