Entries this day: Dream_Google_future Website_problems Work Dream Google future 7:34am JST Tuesday 2 October 2007 (day 13705) Google created a new mode of transportation that would normally be seen as from outer space except that they said they designed it. They made a promotiona video featuring about 50 Google customers (everyday web users) being flown along the Golden Gate bridge in two SR-71s which were being escorted by F-16s. The SR-71s arrived at the other end of the bridge and simultaneously docked underneath a mothership type craft which they then lifted from the ground and up into lower earth orbit where we could see an astonishing amount of space debris, all orbiting in streams like traffic in cities of the future. At this point I knew it must be a simulation because 90% of the debris I could recognize as props from Star Wars movies. Primarily Star Destroyers in various states of completion. As the movie camera panned along the orbiting stuffs, my attention was drawn to a presentation being done by the Google Guys at some mountain where they had created a huge power plant using the water that poured through the mountain. They had inscribed hugely on the mountain
or something like that. I was like, "good job, Google Guys." permalinkWebsite problems 11:03am JST Tuesday 2 October 2007 (day 13705) Message from you (Oct 1st, 2007 - 18:42:04 / #2097725) Subject: site down again HI I'm unable to access http://robnugen.com, but I'm able to access http://m.robnugen.com/j This makes me think there's a problem with the DNS for http://robnugen.com I've tried accessing from different computers, and from different countries via proxy servers. In all cases I'm getting Connection Refused for http://robnugen.com. In all cases http://m.robnugen.com/j works. I haven't done extensive testing, but on first glance, I'm getting errors for http://chatforest.com and http://pekoneko.com Jeff T responded that they had just rebooted the machine. Message from you (Oct 1st, 2007 - 19:50:44 / #2097825) same problems as issue #2097725 Short version: please check IP address 208.113.179.194 for proper http responses Long version: I can't get http connection responses from http://robnugen.com http://pekoneko.com http://thunderrabbit.com I get Site Temporarily Unavailable from http://chatforest.com BUT I get a proper http response from http://m.robnugen.com I can ping all of the above domains. I notice that all the ones that don't give http connections are on IP address 208.113.179.194 chatforest.com has a different error and is on a different IP 208.113.178.75 and m.robnugen.com works properly and is on a different different IP. 208.113.179.16 Now Jeff T replied a bit more fully: Your server has had continuous issues for the past 2 hours that I and a fellow tech have been working on. A complete resolution has yet to be found but we are in touch with an Admin for further help. Let me know if you have problems after the next 30 minutes! Thanks! Jeff T. 6:43pm JST They seem to be resolved. permalinkWork 6:40pm JST Tuesday 2 October 2007 (day 13705) Good stuff at work. Doing some php, which is new for me, though not necessarily what I want to do. But anyway, it's got a lot of free code floatin' around the web, which I've been scooping up as needed. Right now making a URL extractor so we can write them to a DB with a reference key that will refresh to the URLs when a user clicks on our link+reference key. I just downloaded my brain to paper so I can go home and relax, then pick it right back up in the morning. permalinkprev day next day |
