Entries this day: SVN_progress Work_late free_hugs SVN progress 11:13am JST Thursday 4 October 2007 (day 13707) Nice. I was about to make a backup copy of this code before I started hacking on it, and then came on the idea of starting a new subversion repository for it. Hmmm. That would take some doing and perhaps not be worth it... Oh, but one thing: I'm supposed to learn SVN this year. This would be a perfect chance to support that mid range goal. So I cracked out the redbean book and got back into it with a minimum of fuss, and a more solid memory of how to make a new repository *next* time. Yes, my technique amounts to using the Dreamhost GUI to create the repository for me, but this time I did the initial load with no mistakes in directory naming, etc etc. My SVN brain is getting better. permalinkWork late 10:13pm JST Thursday 4 October 2007 (day 13707) Holy cats this is late for me to leave work. But finally got to hash out the tables we'll be using for the new DB stuff, and I totally slashed out several unneeded columns and added necessary ones to get much closer to 3rd Normal than this guy was thinking of. Now granted he knows a lot more about the current setup than I, but his table plan was terrible in this case. I just printed out 33 pages of code through which I will probably go tonight to see if I can get a better sense of what else will need to be done to finish this, and how long it will take. The good news: the bulk of the code I wrote for this thing is still usable. I had to bang on language slash table-design barrier for about an hour to get my design plan through. But I did it. (^_^)V 12:33am JST Friday 5 October 2007 (day 13708) Ami had to work later than me. She was still at work basically until I got off the train in Motosumiyoshi around 12am or so. permalinkfree hugs 11:44pm JST Thursday 4 October 2007 (day 13707) I joined Tetsuya again for a FREE HUGS session in Hachiko Square. In one hour I was the lucky recipient of 47 hugs. Most of which were by unique individuals, but some of which were multi-person hugs (featuring as many as 7 guys) and one guy hugged me 7 separate times. Good times; good times. permalinkprev day next day |
