Entries this day: Awesome_Sally! SubEthaEdit Work Awesome Sally! 8:56am JST Friday 12 October 2007 (day 13715) Yesterday at work I was gmail chatting with Sally and asked if we could continue via Skype 16 hours later. She countered with 14, and our Skype date was set. I logged on and was like, "I don't have Sally's Skype username!" hmmmm. Turns out, Sally didn't yet have Skype! I love how she was like, "sure!" and knew she'd solve the little detail of having never used Skype before. "these are minor details...!" Sally is great; our chat was great; and next time, video! permalinkSubEthaEdit 6:34pm JST Friday 12 October 2007 (day 13715) To Fred: SubEthaEdit seems like a pretty decent piece of code editing software for Mac. Bad points: it's not free (but apparently the non-current version is (not the next non-current version, just this current non-current version)) one more bad point that I forgot Good points: It uses a good deal of the emacs keystrokes, (but doesn't have the concept of a kill-ring) equivalent of font-lock-mode, easily customizable for many different coding languages including LaTeX seamless connection with CyberDuck (free FTP software) tabbed file can be pulled onto or off from the current frame show changes mode There are other good points that I don't use: Remote file collaboration / sharing Many other menu items I haven't explored shrug. just lettin' you know. Found a bug cause by another guy forgetting to update all references to a table after he added a field to the table. That took a good several hours to track down. Part of my tracking technique caused more errors, but they went away when I removed my debug-code. I created one of the three new tables (Client_URLs) I'll make for this project. And now I'm zooming off to meet Ami... And her parents!!! permalink |
