I remember two dream snippets from this morning:

In a car with Fred driving, we were headed to meet Dude. Fred was on the cellie with Dude, and I asked him to ask Dude to bring his golf driver because I had a golf ball that... and Fred said Dude asked if he should bring a box of balls, and I was like, "no," and Fred handed me the phone.

I was all, "hey Dude, yeah, I just wanted you to bring your driver; I've got a golf ball with the white cover peeled off; I wanted to record it exploding into a bunch of rubberbands and put that shit on youtube. Nah; don't worry about bringing another box: I don't actually want to play."

I wanted to write down the dream, and I remembered I should be writing my novel instead, and I decided "fuckit; I'm going to shift my goal from 2000 words per day to 1000 words per day. No wait; 2000 words per day including what I write in my journal. That way my journal won't have to suffer while I'm noveling.

Fell asleep again.

At a bank with Ami, wanting to open a new account. Ami asked the woman at the counter for a new account form, and I got my hanko ready to stamp,

but woke up before I could use it.

Drivin license no renew

Seems like for a government agency, they could afford to make an accurate example image:

I'm renewing my drivin' license, and I see this as where to find the ID and audit numbers:

Hella sidetracked

Goal: write an answer to Marcel's Question.

Steps:

1. find the question

2. notice he gave instructions for renewing my license

3. begin to renew my license

4. realize they probably won't be happy that I'm saying my CC address is in Japan, but my residence is in Texas.

5. Ask Fred if I can use his CC:

   9:01 AM me: hey
     can I use your CC to charge $25 to get my TDL renewed?
   

6. Notice a dramatic flaw on the sample image on their site.

7. Realize another problem:

   9:05 AM oh wait; nevamind
   9:06 AM The address on my license is my old one; they will send the new license there
     and I can't change my address online because the license is expired
   

8. Post a copy of the mistake to my site, for hilarity's sake:

   1. take a screenshot of the error
   2. rename it from Picture 1.png to example_TDL_number.png
   3. wonder if I can get an emacs extension to scp the image to my site
   4. I can! scp in emacs with Tramp!
   5. download tramp
   6. read the README
      

      System Requirements

9. Have been chatting with Colleen while researching Tramp

10. Learn how to use Tramp (this is the site that came up when I searched for emacs scp)

    1. copy

       (require 'tramp)
       (setq tramp-default-method "scp")

       to my .emacs file
    2. try to edit /robnugen.com:robnugen.com/images/
    3. no joy because I haven't told it my password
    4. WTF? FF just died in the background.
    5. write a report to Apple: "I was actually using emacs at the time of the crash; FF died in the background. I was trying to scp to my site at the time, I don't know if/how this could kill FF, but..."
    6. try to copy this entry to my site directly using emacs (it didn't error, but was a bit wonky; my home internet connection could have caused that.)
    7. ssh to my site via terminal
    8. change oct to dec as default journal date in .emacs
    9. the scp via local emacs didn't work
    10. give up on Tramp for now

11. create a directory for the image on my site

    1. not remember the site name from which I got the image
    2. reload FF to get it
    3. FF seems hosed; could it be that I've disabled cookies? could it be that it just updated to a new version? could it be whatever problem caused it to crash before?
    4. oh, nevermind; it was asking for a password in a different window.
    5. get the domain name of the site

12. scp the image to my site using terminal

    

13. Have lunch, thanks to Ami!

14. Go to Ultimate frisbee!

15. Go to Pink Cow!

16. Come home

17. Talk to Ami

18. Happy fun time

canadian Mike art at pink cow

After ultimate, good times at The Pink Cow where we saw Mike's art. Lots of cats and a duck and rhinoceros.

I match-made Jason Collin and Gennie with a G; they are going to live in Hawaii and he's going to be her house husband. I'm a bit envious, but only in theory. I sorta doubt it will come to fruition, but if it does, they said I can come visit.

Ami threw Francois; I thought it was because she was mad that I put my harm around Gennie, but it seems I was associating too much with history.

Talked to Tracie; I may put my art in there some time.
