Entries this day: Reverse nothing Reverse 11:44pm JST Wednesday 13 February 2008 (day 13839) usually I have my entries in a close to ABC order as I can, so the day unfolds top to bottom as presented in my journal. For some reason I started with nothing today, so now Reverse. Today is the night I had a revelation in the shower. We humans are a sort of an experiment in putting boundless souls into these bounded bodies. The experiment has gone a bit awry, as we are cought in the fear of dying and loss, and therefore strike out against each other to take energy from each other in order to keep our animal-egos satiated for the time being. We can choose to connect with cosmic spirit / God / angels / Love / Gaia / whatever we perceive as highest energy goodness to see how we can help ourselves and each other out of this mess. This evening, I met Hideo Asano at The Apple Store to help get his blog tweaked. For some reason the prices on his Buy Now buttons were all at $20 instead of the prices he wanted: one book at $24.95 and two books at $29.95. The funniest thing: he's the guy who harassed me twice for giving FREE HUGS, but he apparently doesn't remember. Buy his books anyway; he's a good egg. Oh, and I put a bunch of pics up from my last trip with Francois. And by last, I mean most recent, and final. There's a bit of frontal nudity in this version of the album: http://robnugen.com/images/travel/japan2008/Ibusuki_sand_baths/ permalinknothing 1:53pm JST Wednesday 13 February 2008 (day 13839) I just accidentally hit #C-xs instead of ##C-xs, and as a result I'm locked out of my screen on robnugen.com. Basically # is my escape character to talk to screen, and I have to hit # twice to actually send a # character to the process. In this case, the process is emacs editing a .php file, and # would be the start of a comment. More specifically, commenting *out* a line because it's causing an error, and I'm trying to get the code to run. So I intended to hit ## to comment the line, then C-xs to save the file (in this case C- means the control key), but instead I hit #C-x which immediately locked the screen with nothing but Screen used by Rob Nugen <thunderrabbit>. Password: And I'm like, "shit," cause I don't know my password. I only authenticate with a passphrase and ssh keys. So, I just reset the password to something ridiculous and am writing this entry as a way to pass time while the change goes through. (not sure why it takes more than a second, though) - - - - Oh; nevermind. I can get back in by killing the local window that's attached to that screen and then reattach and it's cleared up. permalinkprev day next day |
